Rep. Allen West to Media: ‘Stop Being Afraid of This President’ Who’s Destroying This Country’

By Elizabeth Harrington for CNS News

Congressman Allen West (R-Fla.) called on the media to “stop being afraid” of President Barack Obama who is “destroying this country.” West made his remarks on Tuesday at a press conference in support of the TransCanada Keystone XL pipeline.

“It’s about time that I asked this from the media: Stop being afraid of this president,” said Rep. West.  “Stand up to him and call him out on the shirking of his duties and responsibilities.  The House Republicans are passing pieces of legislation, after pieces of legislation about jobs.”

“And here we got a president that’s gone off to Australia, playing golf in Hawaii, and you guys allow him to make this decision to shut down this Keystone XL project,” said West. “The media needs to call out this president and stop coming over here to the House Republicans and telling us what we’re not doing.  We’re the ones taking action.  The guy sitting at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is destroying this country.”

The 1,661-mile, $7-billion pipeline, which would run from Alberta, Canada south to U.S. refineries on the Gulf Coast, was under review by the State Department until last week when President Obama announced that a decision on whether to approve the project would be postponed until early 2013. The White House said it wanted to consider a new route for the pipeline.

The Keystone project, if approved, would have created an estimated 20,000 jobs.

“This is the most important thing we have to understand, America needs leadership right now and America does not have that,” said Rep. West on Tuesday.

  1. Here is the word leadership defined in my dictionary…Guide on a way—direct the activity of—-go at the head of—–tend to a definite result—-position in front. In none of these definitions do I see OJUDAS. He is the most corrupt….I started to say president.. he’s no president..he’s not even an American. Allen West I have always admired you but this time you need to practice what you preach. You are in a body that has the power to begin impeachment proceedings, yet all of you do nothing. WE THE PEOPLE watch as everyday all of you do nothing about everything. You want the pipeline. I know a way to get it. Begin impeachment proceedings, bet you a quarter you’ll have your pipeline in short order. As you said , stand up to OJUDAS ! We’re waiting !

  2. Well, said, Col. West. However, a few months ago, many of your supporters were practically begging you to “enter the fray” and run for Obama’s job, which, unfortunately, you declined. We needed someone we could get behind and lead us back to America. I certainly won’t call you “afraid”: (just a word you used) that you certainly are not. But I never understood why you didn’t heed the call? Look what we’re left w/now!

  5. I agree with you Rep. West, but, it is not the American people that can start the Impeachment process. We know that the Senate will not try Obama, but, Republicans are guilty by association for doing nothing about having a usurper in the White House.

  6. Congressman West — I was among the many last spring begging you to run for President. You declined.

Calling on the Enemedia to “stop being afraid” of the usurper in the WH is a bit disingenous, doncha think?

I’ve always looked up to you and admired you and your honest straightforward approach to the problems we face … but …

I know that you KNOW the usurper in the WH is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on the American people. We, all of us, have no idea who this fraud is that is systematically destroying this country. Clearly, no one seems to care — certainly none of the 544 members of the Legislative and Judicial branches of the so-called government.

I’m calling on you, along with any of your peers in CONgress to STOP BEING AFRAID of the usurper in the People’s House! He is not eligible to be there. Git-R-done Congressman West!

  7. Apathy must go; it needs to be replaced by the outraged.!!

Righteousness of a people who rose to greatness in this world through the spiritual values that their forefathers wrote into the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States . . .

We cannot, we must not, shirk our responsibility . . This challenge can be, and it must be faced with resolute purpose and effort.”
