Allen West “We can’t afford for our military to not be ready at a moment’s notice to defend us” #Sequester

Military_Equipment_MI-resize-380x300

Defense Department officials and military leaders warned in the months leading up to sequestration that the March 1 budget cuts would severely inhibit their readiness capabilities. Two months later, we’re seeing firsthand just how serious they were.

According to Vice Admiral William Burke of the U.S. Navy:

“Due to reduced training and maintenance, almost all of our non-deployed ships and aviation squadrons are soon going to be less than fully mission capable and not certified for major combat operations. That’s about two-thirds of the fleet.”

The Marine Corps is reporting similar readiness issues, with Lieutenant General William Tryon estimating that half of non-deployed units are at “unacceptable” levels of readiness:

“And our crisis response mission is incompatible with tiered readiness. Marines don’t start to get ready when a crisis occurs. We must be ready, we must be forward deployed and we must be prepared to respond immediately.”

We can’t afford for our military to not be ready at a moment’s notice to defend us—especially in a post-9/11 world in which American civilians were killed in a terrorist attack on U.S. soil just last month. As a former Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, I’ll be the first to tell you the Defense Department is not immune to fraud, waste, and abuse.

There are plenty of areas in which spending could be cut without impacting the readiness and morale of our troops! But across the board budget cuts that chip away at the training and equipment available to our troops sets a dangerous precedent. This is precisely why we’ve launched the Allen West Guardian Fund to elect 12 hard-charging conservatives who will fight to keep our defense and national security a top priority in Washington.

Our team will soon begin introducing the candidates we’re supporting in 2014. We’ll also be announcing various events and programs we’re planning to further the dialogue about defending America and our Constitutional values. I look forward to sharing this important information with you in the near future. In the meantime, God bless America.

Allen West Guardian Fund “The left-wing media and the Dem attack machine want nothing more than for us to fail”

AWGF3

Dear Friends:

Tomorrow March 31st marks the first critical fundraising deadline for the Allen West Guardian Fund. Trust me when I tell you-the radical left will use the numbers we report as a benchmark for the strength of the conservative movement.

We’ve set a goal to raise $250,000 before midnight on Sunday, but Sunday is Easter. Like you, I plan to attend Church and spend the day with my family. That’s why I’m urgently asking for your support right now.

Will you follow this link right away to donate $25, $50, $100 or more to the Guardian Fund?

Already, my 2012 opponent is coming out firing. He recently told supporters in an email:

“Knowing Allen West is back means we will once again have to fight against his millions even if it is not his name on the ballot.”

My former opponent and his liberal allies would love nothing more than to see us fail and for the conservative movement to go down with us. This alone should be incentive to make sure we reach our $250,000 goal before Sunday’s midnight deadline!
So please follow this link right this minute to donate $25, $50, $100 or more to the Guardian Fund and help us reach our goal.

Thanks,
Allen

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The primary objective of the Allen West Foundation is to educate and inspire the next generation of conservative leaders among the minority and veteran communities.

ABOUT ALLEN WEST

The Foundation bearing his name was established to encourage others to follow a similar path of commitment to our nation and its constitutional principles.

Allen West Guardian Fund: Helping to elect hard charging Minority and Veteran conservatives to Congress

westpac-logo

Dear Friends and Patriots

From the time I took an oath to support and defend our constitution as a young Second Lieutenant in the United States Army, I have committed my life to our nation and its constitutional principles. I feel a duty and an honor to encourage others to follow a similar path.

That’s why we’ve launched the Allen West Guardian Fund.

The Guardian Fund’s sole mission is to build an army of activists to help elect 12 new hard-charging conservatives to the United State Congress — conservatives who are either among the minority and/or veteran communities. This new generation of conservative leaders will stand as guardians of our constitutional republic.

But to successfully complete this mission, we must raise $5 million over the next 20 months!

The Guardian Fund will face its first test in just a few days. March 31st marks our first Federal Election Commission fundraising deadline and our goal is to report $250,000 raised in our first two weeks.

Can I count on your immediate donation to help us reach this goal?

Please follow this link to donate $25, $50, $100 or more to the Guardian Fund today.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be launching our full-scale battle plan for candidate recruitment and messaging. In the past, we’ve endorsed candidates like Captain Tom Cotton (U.S. Army, Arkansas 4th Congressional District), Lieutenant Commander James Bridenstine (U.S. Navy, Oklahoma 1st Congressional District), Mia Love and Vernon Parker. As we set our sights on 2014, we look forward to canvassing the country for the next bright stars of the conservative movement.

With your continued support, the Guardian Fund will help get 12 more outstanding constitutional conservatives elected to Congress. So can we count on your immediate donation of $25, $50, $100 or more to reach our March 31 goal?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Steadfast and loyal,
Allen West

P.S. Our initial FEC report is a critical step in establishing the Allen West Guardian Fund as the premiere conservative political action committee. A strong showing for the first quarter will prove to the left and the Republican establishment that we love America too much to sit back and watch them destroy her with radical policies and reckless political gridlock. So can we count on you to help the Guardian Fund raise $250,000 by March 31? Please follow this link right away to donate $25, $50, $100 or more.

The Allen West Guardian Fund was established as a PAC to support conservative military veteran and minority Republicans running for state and federal office, in the same vein as Allen West.

Allen West first took an oath to support and defend our Constitution as a young Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. During his 22 years of service, he was distinguished by numerous commendations and honors for valor, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel.

In 2010, Colonel West once again reaffirmed that oath when he became the first black Republican from Florida to serve
in the United House Representatives since Reconstruction.

Forty years ago, 72% of House lawmakers and 78% of those in the Senate had served in the armed forces. Veteran representation on Capitol Hill has been steadily declining since the early 1970s, largely a result of the World War II generation steadily leaving public office. But those who have served in the military have a better understanding and a deeper comprehension of issues involving national security, armed services and veteran issues –issues no less important now than they were 40 years ago.

Colonel West was one of only four black Republicans to serve in the United States House of Representatives in nearly a century. In the Senate, there have been only two. As the demographics of the U.S. population shift, it becomes ever more critical to increase representation by not only black, but Hispanic and Asian American leaders as well.

The leadership PAC Colonel West established during the 2012 election cycle with the same mission helped 7 military veteran candidates win their seats in the House of Representatives.

We must ensure conservative leaders are elected who will stand as guardians of our constitutional republic, to restore our nation’s fiscal responsibility and strong national defense, limit the growth of government, unleash the free market and preserve the liberty and sovereignty of its citizens.

PEORIA —

Former U.S. Rep. Allen West will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Peoria County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner.

The lawmaker, a retired Army officer, made frequent media appearances both during and after his time representing a Florida district in Congress. He lost a close battle for re-election in 2012.

West will appear at the annual banquet on Feb. 9, and his speech was arranged by Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Peoria, who helped him in his 2010 campaign.

The event begins at 6 p.m. and tickets cost $70 apiece. For more details on the event and its location, or to purchase tickets — of which a very limited number remain — call 589-0966 or email cshonrn1@sbcglobal.net.

Allen West “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me”

westngtv

by Allen West on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 7:26am

How many hard-working Americans have deadlines or “ suspense’s” to meet in order to keep their jobs? I recall while in the Army that the last thing you wanted to do was miss a suspense for an action or report. It was never pleasant to try and explain it, as I learned from watching others get flamed.

However, once again the Obama administration shall miss the suspense for submitting a budget to the House of Representatives. In a letter from OMB Director Jeff  Zients to House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan, it was conveyed yet again the office of the Chief Executive would miss the February 4th suspense (same day, by the way, we will launch our Next Generation Today Show) – a suspense they have met only once in the last 4 years. In the real world, repeatedly missing a suspense means you are fired. In political bizarro world it means you get reelected.

As we approach Inauguration Day I recall this simple maxim, “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.” Let’s stand up for our future and the next generation and to paraphrase The Who, “get on our knees and pray we don’t get fooled again.”
