Allen West “Against All Enemies, Foreign And Domestic.” Newsletter 11/10/13

ABW

Friends,

Today is the 238th birthday of the greatest and most lethal fighting force known to man, the United States Marine Corps.

Tomorrow on Veteran’s Day, a grateful nation thanks those who have been willing to make the last full measure of devotion in service to our Republic. These are the men and women who have been our guardians and stood watch on freedom’s rampart.

But today we must ask, what exactly are those in uniform guarding now? The day has come upon us in America where we accept lies from our president. We accept laws that do not apply to everyone, not even to our elected officials. We find our Supreme Court hearing a case as to whether or not we can pray openly before civic meetings, when our nation’s motto is “In God We Trust.”

The oath of office taken by our men and women in uniform is to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. The oath of an American guardian has no statute of limitations. We serve, sacrifice, and defend until we draw our last breath.

Don’t forget to thank our veterans, our guardians, on Monday.

Steadfast and Loyal

Distinguished Conservative Thought-Leader; Highly Decorated Military Vet @AllenWest Joins

Allen West “Proud to announce I’ve joined a distinguished group of speakers rep’d by World Wide Speakers”

Congressman-Allen-B.-West-WWSG-11

A fierce advocate of conservative values, strong education, and public service, Allen West is the third of four generations of military servicemen in his family. His parents instilled in him a very basic principle, love of God and Country.

Having served in several combat zones – including Operation Desert Storm and in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was battalion commander for the Army’s 4th Infantry Division, and in Afghanistan, where he trained Afghan officers to take on the responsibility of securing their own country, West has proven his unparalleled ability to lead under difficult situations. During his 22 years of service in the U.S. Army, he was distinguished by numerous commendations and honors for valor, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel.

West’s upbringing, education, and distinguished military service inspired him to become a staunch advocate of national security, armed services, education, and veteran issues, and accordingly, to seek public office.  In 2010, he became the first black Republican from Florida to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives since Reconstruction.

Fittingly, Congressman West brought to the floors of the Capitol his steadfast passion, his firebrand leadership skills, and his unwavering principles.  He will bring the same inspirational qualities to your audience.

I’m watching the spectacle occurring on the Senate floor. They have passed the 60 vote threshold for ending cloture. I want the American people to understand that tonight the Constitutional Republic we know as America has suffered a horrible defeat. Obamacare is not the law of the land. It is an edict handed down by a tyrant, not a President. The US Senate has just voted to affirm a new precedent that the executive branch can amend law without Congressional approval, and Congress allows it. The waivers, exemptions, and delays implemented by President Obama have delineated a separation, not of powers, but between the political elite and their cronies – and you, my fellow Americans. This is reprehensible, and we can expect even more bad behavior from a President that continues to spit on our Constitution and in our eyes…and smile. The incessant government spending continues with no solution for economic growth. Anyone voting for this tonight owes some explaining to Americans….but maybe not. As Obama stated, “I won.”

Allen West | Are House Republicans inexplicably ready to grant Obama a Fast Track Promotion?

obama-claw-wh-photo

by LTC ALLEN WEST (USA, RET.) 15 Oct 2013, via Breitbart.com

President Obama is seeking power the Constitution has assigned to Congress. Soon, he will formally ask Congress to surrender its constitutional authority and grant him “Fast Track” Trade Promotion Authority.

And House Republicans are inexplicably ready to give it to him.

Members of Congress who take our Constitution seriously will follow Nancy Reagan’s advice and Just Say No.

Article One, Section 8 of the Constitution assigns Congress the exclusive responsibility to set the terms of “commerce with foreign nations” — trade. The Founders established this clear check and balance to prevent the president from unilaterally negotiating deals that reward his supporters while harming opponents or the nation as a whole.

Under Fast Track, Obama would be able to sign commercial trade agreements before Congress votes on them. Congress would not even be able to amend the agreements in any way — it would only have an up-or-down vote when the president says so, before members could even read it.

While Congress has delegated authority to presidents in the past, it was based on the premise that the legislative branch could trust the executive branch to respect Congress’ constitutional role. This administration has breached that trust.

“Americans must hope Allen West is correct in his assessments” via @wtcommunities @Dan_Gray_

Monday, October 14, 2013 – The Gathering Storm by Daniel Martin Gray for the Washington Times Communities

WASHINGTON, October 14, 2013 — At the American Majority New Leaders Summit in West Chester, PA on 10/11/13, I asked Lt. Col. Allen West, former Congressman, distinguished Army career officer, Tea Party favorite and potential candidate for President in 2016 a three-part question.

Given the Obama administration’s willingness to usurp powers Constitutionally mandated to Congress and their contempt for courts, did he believe that President Obama would go so far as to use a real or false-flag event as cause to abrogate Posse Commitatus, and use American troops against citizens on American soil?

Would Generals give illegal orders directing the military to act against peaceful citizens?

Would American soldiers follow illegal orders or mutiny?

West immediately scoffed at the first with a flat “No”. He strongly denied the second, citing high professional standards and ethics of military leadership. He entirely dismissed the third as even a possibility, praising the servicemen and women of our nation as dedicated and devoted to their oaths to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Perhaps West is right.

He certainly knows firsthand the character of those who serve as leaders and volunteers in our Armed Forces, and many of the patriots that now rise to meet the challenges of a government that knows no limits in pursuit of raw power. He is no stranger to conflict in service of our country, whether with deadly force abroad against foreign enemies, or in peaceful politics at home against domestic ones. He has become a touchstone of the movement to restore constitutional government. Americans must hope he is correct in his assessments.

But Americans must also recognize the factors that turn a peaceful protest into a violent mob; that make dedicated public servants behave like monsters. Emotions run high. Restraint by citizens and training of officers only runs so deep. With the Executive so eager to execute, how far will they push before they push too far? How far will the American people allow themselves to be pushed?

Today we remember and honor the United States Constitution. God bless French political writer Charles Montesquieu for inspiring our Founding Fathers – James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay – to create the system of governing philosophy for the longest existing constitutional Republic. However, let this day serve as a call to action for true American Patriots to protect and preserve our rule of law, our Constitution. Our legacy, our American exceptionalism is rooted in the immutable words of truth that begin, “We the People of the United States…” Read Dr. Larry Arnn’s book “The Founder’s Key” and Mark Levin‘s “The Liberty Amendments” and join with me in the oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and bear true faith and allegiance to the same.”

Angela West Discusses – The Party Most Vilified: The Tea Party Movement – Part 1

The Party Most Vilified: The Tea Party Movement Part 1

The Tea Party movement is a political organization/movement adhering to three tenets: (1) adherence to the United States Constitution; (2) Reduction of Government Spending and thus taxes; (3) Reduction of the U.S. National debt and federal budget deficit.

This movement can be considered in equal measure conservative/libertarian/populist. A relatively new movement, it has supported candidates since 2009. As with anything new, the level of “gnashing of teeth, head banging, weeping and wailing” has been heard throughout the land —- and that is just among the old “checkered pant” Republicans. (smile — I love checkered pants as much as the next person).

While many politicians who have been involved with the Tea Party are registered Republicans, it is argued that they do not have to be. A commitment to the three aforementioned principals are necessary to be a part of this movement. Repeat, it is not a separate Party as such, it is a MOVEMENT.

I got this next area from the Wikipedia:

The Contract from America was the idea of Houston-based lawyer Ryan Hecker. He stated that he developed the concept of creating a grassroots call for reform prior to the April 15, 2009, Tax Day Tea Party rallies. To promote his idea, he launched a website, ContractFromAmerica.org, which encouraged people to offer possible planks for the contract. The top ten planks were decided by online voting at Hecker’s website (approval rates shown in parentheses below):

Identify constitutionality of every new law: Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does (82.03%).

1. Reject emissions trading: Stop the “cap and trade” administrative approach used to control pollution by providing economic incentives for achieving reductions in the emissions of pollutants. (72.20%).

2. Demand a balanced federal budget: Begin the Constitutional amendment process to require a balanced budget with a two-thirds majority needed for any tax modification. (69.69%)

3. Simplify the tax system: Adopt a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words – the length of the original Constitution. (64.9%).

4. Audit federal government agencies for constitutionality: Create a Blue Ribbon task force that engages in an audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities. (63.37%).

5. Limit annual growth in federal spending: Impose a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of the inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth. (56.57%).

6. Repeal the health care legislation passed on March 23, 2010: De-fund, repeal, and replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. (56.39%).

7. Pass an “all-of-the-above” energy policy: Authorize the exploration of additional energy reserves to reduce American dependence on foreign energy sources and reduce regulatory barriers to all other forms of energy creation. (55.5%).
8. Reduce earmarks: Place a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget is balanced, and then require a two-thirds majority to pass any earmark. (55.47%).

9. Reduce taxes: Permanently repeal all recent tax increases, and extend permanently the George W. Bush temporary reductions in income tax, capital gains tax, and estate taxes, currently scheduled to end in 2011. (53.38%).

The Tea Party Patriots have asked both Democrats and Republicans to sign on to the Contract. No Democrats signed on, and the contract met resistance from some Republicans who since created “Commitment to America”. Brendan Buck, a spokesman for that agenda explained that the Contract is too narrow in focus, and not exactly what the Republican party would include in its own top-10 list of priorities. Candidates in the 2010 elections who signed the Contract from America included Utah’s Mike Lee, Nevada’s Sharron Angle, Sen. Coburn (R-OK), and Sen. DeMint (R-SC).

Criticism:

As with all new organizations, which buck the establishment, you will find a great deal of opposition. Opposition from the Left is inevitable, but it has been the opposition from the right that is most perplexing. While it is understandable that the fear within the Republican establishment of losing their power as well as their “spot” in line running for president, Good Golly Miss Molly!!!!!! the only demographic they won truly in the last election was middle to older white males. I don’t sense a bumper crop of that demographic coming on.
