Today, we remember those who lost their lives to terrorism, and those in uniform who are still fighting to defeat it.

While we remember those lost –we must also never forget the ‘leaders’ who abandoned Americans under attack to die, and still work to deceive us as to why.

On this day, let us remember the enemy who brazenly attacked us has not been defeated, and will continue to attack, simply because we are a nation and a people who believe in individual liberty.

God bless the greatest nation the world has ever known, these United States of America.

Allen West “Terrorism is relentless and demands constant vigilance” Audio Interview #Newsmax

By Jim Meyers and Kathleen Walter for Newsmax

Former Congressman and Army officer Allen West tells Newsmax that the bombings at the Boston Marathon on Monday show once again that terrorism is “relentless” and demands constant vigilance.

The Florida Republican also warns that every American is in a “combat zone” due to the threat of terrorists, who seek to create as much death and destruction as possible.

West rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel and served in Iraq and Afghanistan before his retirement in 2004. He was a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the Tea Party caucus but lost his House seat in redistricted Florida in 2012. West is now director of Next Generation programming at PJ Media.
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax TV on Tuesday, West discusses the tragedy that unfolded in Boston.

“First of all I want to send out heartfelt condolences to those who have lost a loved one, those who are wounded – multiple amputees – as well as some of the South Florida running community that were there in Boston.

“One of the things we have to understand is this idea of terrorism is something that is relentless, it’s very determined, it’s very diligent, and we have to continue to keep the pressure on. Remember we have to be right every time and they only have to be right one time, and we saw that occur.

“It is very troubling that again we have this happen, but we were very successful, maybe even lucky, that the Times Square bombing did not occur, we had the underwear bomber that was on the aircraft that was landing in Detroit, we had the gentleman who wanted to take an attack against President Bush down in Texas.”

Senior White House officials say they consider this an act of terrorism. But President Barack Obama, speaking from the White House on Monday, pointedly avoided using the words “terror” or “terrorism.”

“It is significant,” West observes. “I hate to say it but in a lot of people’s minds we still have not resolved the issue of Benghazi and many of us are concerned about that. A lot of the words that we heard from the president yesterday kind of mirrored what we heard about Benghazi, and we have not gotten to the bottom of it, we have not brought anyone to justice. We lost an ambassador, two former Navy SEALs and a state department worker, and we know it’s a terrorist attack.

“Words do matter and I can’t understand why the president did not call this a terrorist attack because that’s what everyone has called it, especially when we look at the issue of improvised explosive devices and the fact that they were from the waist down so you had the horrific effect of losing limbs, but also the fact that you had multiple explosions. This is kind of like a kill zone that was designed there toward that finish line at the Boston Marathon.”

Mideast and terrorism expert Walid Phares told Newsmax on Monday that there’s a 50/50 chance the Boston bombings are the work of foreign terrorists, perhaps al-Qaida. West was asked if the bombings appear to be an act of jihad or domestic terrorism.

“We don’t know. We have to get to the bottom of it and I’m sure a bomb always leaves a signature and we have some of the top bomb experts and forensic experts in the world and they’ll be able to piece it together,” he responds.

“But when you look at what we call in the military the TTP, the tactic technique procedures, yes it does look like the type of event and improvised explosive device that you would see in the combat zone in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“But we also have to understand that IEDs are used down in Mexico and we know that we have a Hezbollah influence down there and an Iranian influence in South America. We need to wait and make sure we get the right type of evidence.”

As for the motive of whoever was responsible, West declares: “The motive is very clear — to instill terrorism. The motive was to create as much death and destruction and maiming of American citizens.

“This was a very intricately planned event and the fact that it was in hour four of the marathon means you have security that is relaxing a little bit, you have more of the family-oriented runners that are coming in, so the perpetrators knew exactly what they were doing.”

Asked if we can expect similar attacks in the future, West tells Newsmax: “The element of surprise is lost and that’s the thing that a terrorist wants to create. I don’t believe that they will want to try to follow that with another type of attack because you already have people at a heightened state of security and awareness.

The Hateful Heart Of Terrorism – It lurks in the shadows and strikes without warning

This has been a horrific week for America as once again we were reminded that we should never take our liberties and freedoms for granted. There are and always will be people who hate us just because of who we are and what this great country, America, represents.

All of us here at PJ Media, PJTV and Next Generation TV convey our heartfelt condolences and sincere blessings upon those who lost loved ones and have been seriously injured, psychologically scarred or horribly maimed by Monday’s terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon.

I will not regurgitate my sentiments about that specific attack in this week’s newsletter. You can view them in the commentary we released the following day.

We also learned this week of the toxic chemical substance ricin being mailed to Senate offices and the White House. This form of terrorism again creates fear, panic and hysteria in good Americans who are simply serving their country. These staffers are moms, dads, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters – Americans.

Terrorism is a tool of the weak to wreak fear upon the strong. The inhumane use secrecy and simplicity to intimidate their adversaries and alter how their enemies live. Terrorists intend to restrain our freedoms, to make us feel less secure. It is truly death by a thousand cuts, slowly bleeding the victims until they are dead.

What dies? A society, a dream, a nation that was created as a beacon for those who seek a better way, opportunity, not just for themselves but for the next generation.

Terrorism says, “We cannot take you head on, but we will hide in the shadows and instill fear.” Our response: We try to rationalize, to understand, and we may even make insidious excuses that only embolden terrorists in their objective, which is irrational.

I will never forget the killing of Leon Klinghoffer, who was pushed, wheelchair bound, off the Achille Lauro into the Mediterranean Sea. Terrorists behave this way, as my friend Brigitte Gabriel titled her book, “Because they Hate.”

The progressive path to economic servitude

This week also marked the 100th anniversary of the personal income tax. What began in 1913 as a supposedly temporary revenue measure has expanded into a tax code that is onerous, complex and confusing – and more than 75,000 pages long.
We released a commentary on the state of taxation in America.

This weekend I will speak at the Rawhide Circle retreat held at the California ranch of former President Ronald Reagan. The topic is, “Can free enterprise survive for future generations?” The short answer is, not if we continue down the path of progressive taxation, which has become a weapon to undermine more of the hard-earned capital of American taxpayers.  We will not have economic growth under heavy taxation; we will have economic servitude.

A threat to the military chain of command

Another point of concern for me this week springs from an April 13 New York Times article by Thom Shanker. The article suggests that the military for the first time may require first-time generals and admirals to be evaluated by their peers and the people who they command on qualities like personal character.

U.S. Army Ranger school currently includes peer evaluations. However, each evaluator is a Ranger school student; no peer commands another.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey is leading this new effort as part of a broad overhaul of training and development programs for generals and admirals. He believes that “evaluations of top officers needed to go beyond the traditional assessment of professional performance by superior officers alone” and that these changes are necessary “to assess both the competence and character in a richer way.”

This initiative breaks down the chain of command and discipline in the military. We cannot believe that the few instances of “misconduct” warrant a complete altering of the command relationship in the military.

This truly will threaten the “good order and discipline” of the military. A system of inspectors general exists to report illicit behavior of commanders. We certainly do not need any system that creates “political officers” in our units.

A week of mourning

We bid farewell to the Iron Lady this week, Baroness and former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The world will miss her; however, she will always be remembered for her strength, resolve and vision.

We here in America also lost an iconic figure, professional football legend, Hall of Famer and broadcaster Pat Summerall. Many of us have fond memories of growing up with Summerall and his NFL commentary. Along with former Oakland Raiders coach John Madden, he was one-half of the greatest duos in sports commentary. Farewell to Pat Summerall, a football legend and a great voice.

And our country endured yet another tragedy three days after the Boston terrorist attack – a deadly explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas. I offer my condolences to the loved ones of those who were killed or injured in that tragedy.
Steadfast and Loyal,

Allen B. West

My heartfelt condolences go out to those who have been killed, wounded, and lost loved ones in this bombing incident in Boston at the Marathon finish line – on Patriots Day in memory of the Minutemen at Lexington and Concord. We don’t have all the facts right now, but we shall, and if this carnage is the result of nefarious actions, the perpetrators will pay. For now, please stop and pray and ask for God’s blessings upon the victims and His strength and resolve for our nation.

Rep Allen West’s Statement on the Israeli tourist attack in Bulgaria

(WASHINGTON)—  Congressman Allen West (R-FL) released this statement today on the Israeli tourist attack in Bulgaria:

“Blood has been spilled today once again in the senseless death of Israeli citizens killed in a terrorist attack on a tour bus in a Bulgarian resort town.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the Israelis who lost their lives and those who were injured.

It is no coincidence this attack comes on the 18th Anniversary of the attack on a Jewish community center in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires. On this date two decades ago, 85 people lost their lives.

The terrorists behind today’s suicide bombing, and others in the past, have one goal in mind; to invoke terror and fear in the hearts and minds of the Israeli people.  This enemy,  the same enemy that seeks to destroy the United States, will stop at nothing to destroy Israel and to kill its sons and daughters.

America must stand behind our strongest and most steadfast ally in the Middle East, Israel, to find the perpetrators behind today’s attack and ensure the protection of the nation and people of Israel.

It is essential freedom-loving people do not allow these acts of terrorism to prevent them from defending the principles of liberty, freedom and democracy.

My commitment to the Jewish people grows ever stronger as a result of this attack.”

Congressman Allen West Joins the Thomas More Law Center’s Citizens Advisory Board

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center stated,

We are honored that Congressman West, a courageous American patriot, has agreed to serve on our Board.  He has been steadfast and unafraid in his public opposition to the internal threat posed by radical Islam.  He distinguished himself as a combat officer in the Iraq war, and he is now distinguishing himself as a representative of patriotic Americans throughout the nation.  He symbolizes everything the Law Center strives to be, and as a member of the Citizens Advisory Board, he will help develop the Law Center’s national strategy to accomplish its mission.”

In accepting service on the Advisory Board, Congressman West stated,

COMPLETE THE ENTIRE STORY HERE: THOMAS MOORE LAW CENTER

Before retiring as an Army Lieutenant Colonel, West served as a Field Artillery Officer in several combat zones: in Operation Desert Storm, in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was battalion commander for the Army’s 4th Infantry Division, and in Afghanistan, where he trained Afghan officers to take on the responsibility of securing their own country.

Allen West was elected to House of Representatives in November 2010.  As a Member of the House Armed Services Committee, Congressman West advances the principle that peace is best kept through a strong national defense.

Some of the positions he has taken as a Congressman include:

  •  The radical Islamist movement is one of the most dangerous threats we have ever seen, and too many government officials are ignoring the grave risks confronting the country.
  • We are a nation at war against a totalitarian theocratic political ideology that glorifies death rather than celebrating life. To defeat it, we must stay on the offensive. From Afghanistan and Iraq to the Greater Middle East and South America, radical Islam is on the march.
  •  Political correctness cannot be part of our national security system.
  • Every time Congress takes for itself new powers, not enumerated in the Constitution, it chips away at freedom, individual liberty, and the right of the people to choose what is best for them, in their communities.
  • The 2nd Amendment is an individual right.

Obama Apologizes For Qur’an Burning But BIBLE Burning OK – by W.J.Murray

Feb 26th, 2012 | By  for Religious Freedom Coalition

Obama to Muslims – We are sorry. Obama to Muslims – We are really sorry. Obama to Muslims – Please forgive us as you kill our soldiers

OBAMA APOLOGIZES FOR QUR’AN BURNING BUT BIBLE BURNING OK – In 2009 several boxes of Holy Bibles were burned at the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan because they were in the native Afghan language. There was a fear that rather than be given to Afghan Christians that they could be used to “convert Muslims. As news agencies reported the story, not once was the word “holy” used in front of the word Bible. This week President Barack Obama crawled forward to apologize for the burning of a couple of Qur’ans that were defaced by Muslims in an effort to pass escape plans to one another at a prison at Bagram Air Base. Does anyone see a double standard here? Two Americans were killed and five wounded by an Afghan soldier for “revenge.” No apology from the Afghan government and none requested by President Obama. The message to Islamic terrorists: “No need to apologize for murder in the name of Islam but as a nation we will crawl on our knees and kiss your butts to apologize if we inadvertently harm your precious Qur’an.

Congressman Allen West Nov 2, 2011 – U.S. Must Understand 21st-Century Combat – Roll Call Special

By Rep. Allen West

Special to Roll Call

  • Nov. 2, 2011, Midnight

Today’s paradigm of battle and combat operations is completely different from what I experienced in 1982 when I was commissioned as a young lieutenant in the U.S. Army. At that time, the battlefield was much simpler.

In broad strokes, there was the Soviet Union on one side and the United States on the other. We were familiar with their tactics and equipment, and they with ours. Both sides wore uniforms, and every now and then we would stage war games on border control missions.

That paradigm has completely disappeared, leaving in its place an asymmetrical battlefield with non-uniformed, non-state belligerents using unconventional weapons and tactics. If the United States is going to be successful in protecting its citizens and interests, it must quickly understand and adapt to this new battlefield and be prepared for success and victory.

While America may lack an appropriate strategic level perspective, we will never lose at the tactical level on the ground because the United States has the best soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen the world has ever known. But without the correct strategic and operational goals and objectives, we will find ourselves on the proverbial hamster wheel. No matter how much effort we exert on the wheel, we will not make forward progress.

To begin with, we must correctly identify our enemy. It is frankly naive to say we are at war with “terror” because a nation cannot be at war with a tactic. Imagine, if during World War II, the United States went to war against the “blitzkrieg” or the “kamikaze.”

Further, we cannot narrowly define the enemy as simply al-Qaida or the Taliban. It is just as ridiculous to say we declared war against the 12th German Panzer Division or the 55th Japanese Infantry Regiment in World War II or the 7th Guards Tank Division during the Cold War.

Before the rise of al-Qaida, the terrorist group which had inflicted the most damage on the United States was Hezbollah. Now Hezbollah has become a very capable military force, albeit one without state or uniform — so capable in fact, it has armed missiles within striking distance of every city in Israel.

The Obama administration has failed to identify Hezbollah as an enemy. On this 21st century battlefield we are not fighting against a single organization, leader or nation. We are fighting against the ideology of Islamic totalitarianism, manifested at a tactical level as terrorism, which knows no country and recognizes no borders.

Until we, as a nation, are able to correctly and openly identify our enemy, we will continue to put our men and women on the ground in harm’s way without a clear mission for success. Once we have identified the enemy, we must ensure we have clearly identified the specific strategic level objectives to effectively fight. I believe there are four:

1. Deny the enemy sanctuary. The number one asset our military has is strategic mobility. When that is curtailed by a focus on nation-building or occupation-style warfare, we eliminate our primary advantage, and worse, our military forces become targets. Because this enemy has no respect for borders or boundaries, we must be willing to take the fight directly to him.

2. Cut off the enemy’s flow of men, material and resources. We have to interdict the enemy’s flow of resources in order to prevent the ability to fund, supply and replenish his ranks.

3. Win the information war. Unfortunately, the enemy is far more adept at exploiting the power of the Internet, broadcast media and dissemination of powerful imagery. In addition, I fear our media now sees itself as an ideological political wing. If we cannot fully use our own national informational power as an asset, we will lose the strategic battle, if not our country.

Congressman (LTC)(Retired) Allen West – The clocking is ticking very fast with Iran

Rep. Allen West tells Newsmax that the cuts in Pentagon spending that would be required if the congressional supercommittee fails to reach a compromise would “gut” the U.S. military and leave Americans unable to protect and defend themselves.

The Florida Republican also warns that “the clock is ticking very fast” toward Iran becoming a nuclear-armed threat, and says the United States should “absolutely” support the Israelis if they launch an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

West was first elected in 2010 and is a member of the Tea Party Caucus. He is also an Army veteran who served for more than 20 years, with postings in several combat zones, and retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel.

If the supercommittee charged with devising deep cuts in the nation’s budget deficit does not reach an agreement this month, the Pentagon would automatically be required to cut at least $500 billion from its budget in the coming years. In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, West was asked what would be the consequences of those cuts.

“The Army, which is today at 569,000, would go down to 426,000,” he says.

“The Marine Corps, which is at 202,000, would go down to 145,000. Navy ships, which are 288, would go down to 238. Air Force fighters, which are 1,990, would go down to 1,512.
