It seems there is a wholehearted push by liberal progressives for gun control. Let history teach us the results of gun control policies by a central government. It is simple: an armed person is a citizen, an unarmed one is a subject.

Last week Secretary of State Kerry was in Germany and commented, “in America you have a right to be stupid.” My response is, no Mr. Kerry, in America you have a right to bear arms, and it seems you are stupid.

Lastly, once disarmed, want to know what the radical leftist liberal progressive America looks like? Check out Detroit.

This will not happen on my watch, and I don’t need to be on Capitol Hill to defend the Republic.

Former Rep. Allen West predicts the Obama Administration will fail to enact restrictive gun laws that buck the Second Amendment and believes the issue is more about people control than gun control.

“This is your gun control, this finger right here – your index finger,’’ West told Newsmax TV in an exclusive interview.

“Nothing happens with that gun until you put that finger into the trigger well and you pull it. So my concern is that we’re not talking about the real issue, we’re talking about a political agenda.

“I don’t [see Obama succeeding]. I think the president maybe believes he has some sort of populous mandate . . . but that’s not going to fly very well.’’

The Florida Republican, a retired U.S. Army colonel who’s a tea party favorite, said there is “big concern’’ across the country about Obama enacting an executive order to push through a firearms mandate.

“That’s not in contra, as we are a republic with co-equal branches of government, separate of power — so that’s what really concerns people,’’ West said.

The lawmaker said when he studied the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Virginia Tech, Columbine High School,
and a Colorado movie theater “the real commonality is . . . that there were parental problems, there was a mental issue.

“And I think that’s where we should start first and foremost.’’

West said members of the military, police, and civilians are strongly responding to the possibility of a White House intervention.

Gun Owners of America Enthusiastically Endorse Allen West for Congress

Gun Owners of America Political Victory Fund is pleased to endorse Allen West in Florida’s 18th District.

Lieutenant Colonel West (U.S. Army, Ret.) is best known for his service to his country, being awarded a Bronze Star, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, and a Valorous Unit Award in a career spanning over twenty years. LTC West’s defense of liberty extends beyond the battlefield, however, as his commitment to support and defend the Constitution is the driving force behind his career in Congress.

What does this American patriot and hero think about the Second Amendment? “An armed and informed law-abiding citizenry is the best defense against an unjust government and the criminal element created by irresponsible societal benevolence and activist judges.” His position on the right to keep and bear arms is as politically incorrect as it is in keeping with the original intent of the founding fathers.

Gun owners and sportsmen throughout the country will continue to have a strong ally in the U.S. Congress with Allen West. Allen West is a consistent and strong advocate for Second Amendment rights who respects the Founding Fathers and their pledges of lives, fortunes, and sacred honor.

Gun Owners of America Political Victory Fund enthusiastically supports Allen West for Congress and encourages gun owners and sportsmen throughout the 18th District to work hard to reelect this pro-gun champion in November.

Is Obama afraid of chicks with guns? Article by Mike Dorstewitz for BizPac Review

By: Michael Dorstewitz  for BIZPAC Review

This election cycle, President Obama’s team is bringing up class warfare, the war on women and Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital. One issue that’s missing, to the displeasure of the left, is gun control.

During his 2008 presidential campaign, Obama called for a ban on the sale or transfer of semi-automatic weapons and more restrictions on purchasing all firearms. I pointed out in a previous column that most handguns sold today are semi-automatic.

Since his inauguration, however, we have heard little on gun control from the president. And he’s been given plenty of opportunity to make a stand. There have been several school shootings. There was the Fort Hood tragedy (which the administration incorrectly called a “work-related incident”). Finally, there was the infamous Jan. 8, 2011, massacre, when U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., and 18 others were shot during a public gathering in a supermarket parking lot.

In the days following the Giffords shooting, liberal politicians and the press called for tighter handgun restrictions — but the president remained silent, choosing instead to urge everyone to tone down the rhetoric. A month after the shooting, Time Magazine’s Alex Altman noted that Obama’s reticence pleased neither the left nor the gun lobbyists. Fully a year after Giffords’ injuries, the Washington Post argued that the best way to honor her would be to enact gun control legislation, much like the Brady Bill signed into law by President Bill Clinton. The Post editorial noted that when President Obama delivered his State of the Union address after the shooting, he “could not muster a single word about the need for reasonable gun control measures to ward off such violence in the future,” expressing hope that he would soon find the courage to do so.

What the Post’s editorial board refuses to recognize, however, is that outlawing handguns won’t mean an end to handgun violence. Criminals would continue to obtain handguns just as they  always have — through illegal street sales. It would merely make law-abiding citizens unable to protect themselves and their loved ones in the face of violence directed toward them. And self-protection is, after all, the whole purpose of the Second Amendment.

Congress Moves Closer to Restoring a Key Second Amendment Freedom – by Chris W. Cox

Thanks to the good work of millions of American gun owners and NRA members, Congress is moving closer to restoring one of our fundamental freedoms guaranteed by the Second Amendment.

Ten days ago, the House Judiciary Committee considered amendments to the “National Right-to-Carry-Reciprocity Act” (H.R. 822), which would allow any person with a valid, state-issued concealed firearm permit to exercise the right to carry a firearm in any state that permits concealed carry.

Some members of the Committee tried to weaken the bill with anti-gun amendments, and I’m happy to report that every one of them failed. The committee is expected to pass the bill soon, after which it will go before the full House for a vote.

As of today, 49 states have laws in place that permit their citizens to carry a concealed firearm in some form or another. Only Illinois completely denies its residents the right to carry a concealed firearm outside their homes or businesses for self-defense, an injustice for which President Obama fought hard when he was an Illinois state senator.

In 41 of these 49 states, law-abiding citizens can carry a firearm without having to navigate an overly restrictive bureaucratic process.

The problem is that some states allow visiting permit holders from other states to exercise their right to carry, and some states do not. As you can imagine, this presents a nightmare for interstate travel, as many Americans are forced to check their Second Amendment rights, and their fundamental right to self-defense, at the state line.
