Allen West, Michelle Fields and John Phillips discuss Barack & Bibi, The Carl Combover & Single Motherhood

On today’s Next Gen TV, Allen and Michelle reflect back on their week at CPAC and find out what John was up to by his lonesome in Los Angeles. On the CPAC front, our hosts take a look at Rush Limbaugh’s open letter to the next generation, and quibble with Rushbo’s premise that they need to do something important for anyone to pay attention to them.

Plus, is it possible to make a plausible argument that fast food, plastic bags and cigarettes do more damage than single motherhood? An ad campaign targeted at single mothers in New York City sparks a fierce debate. Find out where the Next Gen team stands on it.

And Paul Ryan and Speaker Boehner say there’s a looming debt crisis. But were you aware that there’s a serious barbershop deficit in the Senate? Well there is. To learn about these topics, and more, tune in.

Allen West “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me”

by Allen West on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 7:26am

How many hard-working Americans have deadlines or “ suspense’s” to meet in order to keep their jobs? I recall while in the Army that the last thing you wanted to do was miss a suspense for an action or report. It was never pleasant to try and explain it, as I learned from watching others get flamed.

However, once again the Obama administration shall miss the suspense for submitting a budget to the House of Representatives. In a letter from OMB Director Jeff  Zients to House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan, it was conveyed yet again the office of the Chief Executive would miss the February 4th suspense (same day, by the way, we will launch our Next Generation Today Show) – a suspense they have met only once in the last 4 years. In the real world, repeatedly missing a suspense means you are fired. In political bizarro world it means you get reelected.

As we approach Inauguration Day I recall this simple maxim, “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.” Let’s stand up for our future and the next generation and to paraphrase The Who, “get on our knees and pray we don’t get fooled again.”

Our Shining City On The Hill Is In Plain Site, Can We Push Her Across The Finish Line?

We are nearing the finish line. Our quest to regain our Republic is in plain site. We still have a long road to hoe but the vision of our Shining City on the Hill is a glorious vision that is within our grasp. America is a great nation and most of the people who live here understand what it means to be free, to have liberties and to know why and how we have them today.

“Peace Through Strength” we are a nation that has stood by this adage since it’s conception many, many years ago. We have fought great battles, we have made many mistakes but America still stands. As an example to the rest of the world, we are a beacon of Freedom. To those people who understand the concept of a free country, it is imperative to remain loyal to the ideals and the foundations constructed by our Founding Fathers. The blood that has been shed over centuries and the many lives lost are a constant reminder that freedom is more than just a word, it comes with a heavy price.

There are those that believe that we can remain all of these things without exhibiting and showing the rest of the world that we are a strong and mighty force to be reckoned with and they believe that compromise and tolerance is the answer. They are wrong.

Sadly, the entitlement society of today raises their children to believe that they are owed something for nothing.  This constant misinterpretation of the facts and the progressive ideology has been fed to them most of their lives. In a lot of cases, they are raised in environments that are conducive to that way of thinking and therefore have no other knowledge. Americans have become conditioned to look to the government, to be the answer to all of their problems.

How do we as a society reverse the damage?

After the four years we have endured under the current administration we have a window of opportunity on November 6, 2012. When we as a nation come together and vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.  The change from a community organizer to a strong  principled leader. A leader with the courage, the competence, the commitment, the conviction and the character to step up and do the things that are right, to accept the future and the legacy for this great republic that’s threatened right now.

Mitt Romney will help redirect this nation back to a limited government with fiscal responsibility and free market solutions. But more importantly, get us away from leadership by entitlement.  He will offer solutions to assist our small businesses, infuse our economy, lower our unemployment numbers, give our Military much deserved and well needed encouragement with a Commander In Chief who will not stand down or leave anyone behind. A Romney administration will reorganize our safety nets so they will be there for our children and most importantly give strength to our National Security.

“We know that peace is the condition under which mankind was meant to flourish. Yet peace does not exist of its own will. It depends on us, on our courage to build it and guard it and pass it on to future generations. George Washington’s words may seem hard and cold today, but history has proven him right again and again. “To be prepared for war,” he said, “is one of the most effective means of preserving peace.” Well, to those who think strength provokes conflict, Will Rogers had his own answer. He said of the world heavyweight champion of his day: “I’ve never seen anyone insult Jack Dempsey.” – President Ronald Reagan

This country is at a crossroads. We can either continue the path we are going down now and end up a third world country with unimaginable levels of poverty and debt leaving nothing to our children by re-electing Obama. Or, we can elect two men with a real plan for this country that can change that downward spiral and that is Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.

Patrick Murphy’s Plans to Cut Medicare – Watch – Via Allen West for Congress

We can’t let President Obama and Patrick Murphy cut $716 Billion from Medicare to pay for Obamacare. This cut would mean long lines, seniors losing their doctors, and bureaucrats making healthcare decisions for seniors.

That’s their plan and I’m committed to stopping it dead in it’s tracks.

We’re taking the message straight to the airwaves. You can see the TV Ad here and we’re counting on 500 supporters today to give $35 to help keep this ad on the air.

We must get our message out and win in November if we’re going to stop these disastrous cuts and the Obama/Pelosi/Murphy big government agenda. Thank you for your help.

Steadfast and Loyal,

Allen West

P.S. We’re counting on your contribution of $35 to stop the Murphy/Obama Medicare cuts.

Rep. Allen West “Another False Obama Medicare Claim: The $6,400 Myth”

via Facebook by Allen West on Monday, August 20, 2012

It is quite obvious that truth and integrity have no place in President Obama’s reelection campaign. In 2008 he was able to run on empty words and hyperbole. Now in 2012 he is running as an empty suit unable to be honest about his failure and dismal record.

Wall Street Journal Editorial

“The $6,400 Myth”

Breaking down a false Obama Medicare claim.

One of President Obama’s regular attacks on Paul Ryan’s Medicare reform is that it would force seniors to pay $6,400 a year more for health care. But merely because he keeps repeating this doesn’t mean it’s in the same area code of accurate.

The claim is based on a now out-of-date Congressional Budget Office estimate of the gap between the cost of health care a decade from now, in 2022, and the size of the House budget’s premium-support subsidy for a typical 65-year-old in 2022.

In other words, the $6,400 has no relevance for any senior today. None. But it also is unlikely to have any relevance for any senior ever because CBO concedes that its number is highly uncertain and “will depend on the evolution of the health care and health insurance systems over time, which is hard to predict.” That’s for sure.

The more fundamental problem is that the CBO analysis has nothing to do with the current Mitt Romney-Paul Ryan plan. Nada. Over the last year Mr. Ryan has made major adjustments to his original proposal as he sought a compromise with Democrats. In its most up-to-date analysis, CBO admits that it “does not have the capability at this time to estimate such effects” in the new version. That is, it does not have the tools to make its $6,400 exaggeration again.

The reason CBO can’t model the 2013 House budget and the Romney-Ryan plan is that they harness markets with competitive bidding. Congress’s budget gnomes can’t handle these dynamic forces.

So how would Ryan 2.0 work in practice? Traditional Medicare and all private insurers in a region would make bids to cover seniors and compete for their business by offering the best value and prices. Then the government would give everyone a subsidy equal to the second-lowest bid.

If seniors chose that No. 2 option, whether it was Medicare or another plan, they’d break even and pay nothing extra out of pocket. If they picked the cheapest plan, they’d keep whatever was left over after the government subsidy—that is, they’d get a cash refund. If they instead picked the third-cheapest option, the fourth-cheapest, etc., they’d pay the difference above the government subsidy.

That structure ensures that seniors would have at least two choices (and likely far more) that they are guaranteed to do better than they do now. The amount of the premium-support subsidy would also be tied to underlying health-care costs, so it would not shift costs to beneficiaries, as Democrats also falsely claim. The very reasonable Romney-Ryan policy bet is that costs could nonetheless fall over time because seniors would have the incentive to switch to the most competitively priced Medicare plan.

Rep. Allen West’s popularity is the ability of his followers to rally around him

Allen West’s Climb to Social Media Dominance

By Jack B. Winn for

He currently has over 190,000 Facebook fans and 83,000 Twitter followers making House Rep. Allen West (R-FL) a rising online star, leapfrogging over other members of congress according to OhMyGov Analytics’ media power rankings.

s the rankings demonstrate, the Florida Republican more than cracked the top ten, landing at #5 just short of Wisconsinite Tammy Baldwin’s (D-WI) #4 spot, who’s also running for the highly contested Wisconsin senate seat of retiring democratic senator Herb Kohl (D-WI).

While behind the Republican vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan (R-WI) who recently surged to the #1 position, West’s rise is a perfect storm of media publicity and public fascination with a larger than life figure whose comments about everything from Chick-Fil-A to communism have attracted nationwide attention–but also scrutiny.

Despite West’s bombastic attitude and checkered past, the Congressman still has his supporters, including a legion of Twitter followers promoting his cause online. One message, which has been frequently retweeted, reads ‘This man is a prime example of the American success story. Oh, and he has guts’.

Not shy of using emerging technology, West has also made an effort to capitalize on the growing power of apps. An Allen West Facebook app allows users to place ‘yard signs’ on their Facebook wall, and a separate Allen West bumper sticker app does much the same thing. An Allen West for President Facebook page has gotten over 9,000 likes–to say nothing of Allen West Republic.

Rep. Allen West “Liberals Closing Ranks”

Dear Friend,

I am pleased to congratulate my House colleague, Congressman Paul Ryan, on being selected to join Mitt Romney on the road to the White House as his Vice Presidential running-mate. As I have always said, I will wholeheartedly support the Republican candidates, and with a true fiscal conservative Paul Ryan, on the ticket, I am particularly pleased to do so.

Of course, Congressman Ryan will immediately come under attack from his intellectual inferiors. They will accuse him, like they have accused me, of wanting to “end Medicare as we know it” despite the fact that this claim was long ago discredited as the “Lie of the Year”. Like my liberal opponent, President Obama has no workable solutions and no record to run on so he will lie and smear Paul Ryan, and left-wing groups and the media will predictably close ranks behind him.

Speaking of liberals closing ranks, the NAACP has come to the defense of my liberal opponent and his dad for launching a racially charged attack portraying me with a gold tooth and punching white women and seniors in the face while stealing cash from a black family. The NAACP now says the attack doesn’t play on racial stereotypes. The fact that the NAACP is capable of suspending disbelief in their evaluation of this despicable attack shows they are completely blinded by their allegiance to the Democrat Party and they have no credibility.

These attacks are disgraceful and over the top. Unfortunately, like my opponent, the media condones them and they are only going to get worse in the next 86 days. Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and all of our great conservative candidates around the country will face possibly the most unprecedented mudslinging in modern American political history. Thanks to allies like
you, we will continue to speak the truth and bypass the media filter to expose the left’s record of failure and ideologically bankrupt agenda. With your help, we will win a decisive victory on November 6.
