If this were not so serious I would be ROTFLMAO. President Obama steps up and says he has kept a campaign promise and withdraws all US forces from Iraq. Now, Secretary of State John Kerry is in Iraq begging them to stop allowing Iranian forces to transit through Iraq into Syria. In August 2011, I was part of a US Congressional visit – no Democrats were there – and heard PM Netanyahu request we do not empty our troop presence in Iraq which would create a vacuum to be filled by Iranian hegemonic dominance. Iraqi PM al-Maliki is just a tool of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Way to go Pres Obama, the greatest nation in the world is begging for respect and has become a laughing stock in the Middle East.

Rep Allen West on Iran “We are running out of time”

(WASHINGTON) — Congressman Allen West (R-FL) released this statement today:

“I have grave concern today that President Barack Obama and his Administration are continuing to jeopardize the safety and security of Israel, by saying one thing while doing another, when it comes to standing by the United States’ one true ally in the Middle East.

President Obama assured Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu yesterday that the United States ‘has Israel’s back,’ when it comes to defending Israel against Iran, yet the President stopped short of defining exactly what that entails. Today, the President tells Americans it ‘it is deeply in everybody’s interests — the United States, Israel and the world’s — to see if this can be resolved in a peaceful fashion.’  This President continues to talk from both sides of his mouth, and it is dangerous. Israel needs action, not more words from the President.

The facts are that Iran is not responding to increasing sanctions by either the United States or the European Union, and continues to proceed with building a nuclear arsenal. Iran is not interested in anything other than playing a stall game, a game that gives them additional time to fortify their defenses, and acquire the means to convert their knowledge into actual weapons.

We are running out of time and the President’s insistence to wait for a ‘diplomatic resolution’ with Iran, proves our Commander in Chief does not fully understand, or is simply ignoring, the imminent threat looming, and it is putting not only our friends in Israel at severe risk, but freedom and democracy as we know it. Recent history shows us that sanctions, no matter how severe, will not curtail a country’s effort to develop nuclear weapons, when its leaders are determined. North Korea, for example, has been subject to international sanctions since 2006. The regime is believed to be turning to illegal ventures, including the sale of weapons technology, to raise funding for its nuclear program.

The consequences of inaction, could lead to a nuclear arms race in the entire Middle East.

I see this Administration’s lack of commitment to stand up to Iran as a much deeper problem. This President has consistently shown a willingness to appease and apologize to radical Islamists. From writing a private letter to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khameini, to issuing knee-jerk apologies concerning the American Military Koran burning, and most recently, allowing the United States to pay $5 million of taxpayer money to bail out pro-democracy activists facing charges in Egypt.

When is President Obama going to stand up publicly against this theocratic-political, Islamic totalitarian ideology with the courage and convicton that has made the United States the greatest country the world has ever known? After spending 22 years commanding United States troops, much of it the Middle East, I can tell you these nations only respect one thing- and that is strength. President Obama has yet to intimidate Iran, as evidenced by the country’s continual game- playing and testing our demands. Until President Obama stands firm, America, Israel, and democracy as we know it will continue to be at risk.

Iran is as dangerous as Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Imperial Japan, and the Communist Soviet Union once were, and it represents a clear and present evil in these times.”

Rep Allen West blogs “We need a Commander-in-Chief who understands complexities of war”

by Rep Allen West – on The Hill

President Obama at times appears to live in a parallel universe all to his own. Let’s put aside his claims that 8.5 percent unemployment (up from 7.8 percent when he took office) is a sign our economy is improving,  what I find most disconcerting is his recent assertion that “the tide of war is receding.”

Is it really?

The “Arab Spring” is now darkening into a cold “Arab Winter” as the Muslim Brotherhood and other radical Islamists groups take majority control of the Egyptian government.

An estimated 50,000 to 70,000 medium and long-range missiles are stationed in Lebanon and pointed south at our staunchest ally in the region, Israel.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is right now traveling through Latin America and no doubt  strengthening alliances in the region. In addition, the Iranian Navy is staging aggressive war games in the Straits of Hormuz.

China is expanding its military capability by broadening its maritime and air forces. In North Korea, a 28-year-old four star general is waiting to show his strength as the new national leader, while jangling the keys to a nuclear arsenal.

Congressman Allen West “I give you my thoughts in my weekly wrap up”

Dear Patriot,

Greetings to our constituents, fellow Floridians, and all Americans, it is time again for our weekly update.  It is hard to believe that almost nine months have gone by.

I want to begin with the issue of the unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state in the United Nations. Because of a short-sighted speech given last year by our own President at the United Nations, we saw an emboldened Mahmoud Abbas submit his request for statehood. A request for the creation of something that even in its name is a misnomer.

As I have often stated, the word Palestine has nothing to do with Arabs. It has everything to do with a region that was conquered by the Romans who suppressed the Jewish rebellion between 68-73 AD and by decree of Emperor Hadrian, who changed the region’s name from Judea to Palestina.

Hadrian and the Romans took the word Palestina from the root word, Phillistia, referring to the original Philistines, who were in fact Greek.
Therefore, the true “Palestinians” are the Jewish people, hence why I believe the first step to a peace process solution in the Middle East is recognition of the modern-day Jewish State of Israel. The second step is a complete repudiation of radical Islamic terrorism and dismantling of terrorist groups such as Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Al Aqsa and Al Quds Brigades, Hezbollah, and others which threaten Israel.

If these critical conditions cannot be met, and if Mahmoud Abbas cannot agree to this, then his attempts are nothing more than a charade. The audacity of Abbas to attempt to circumvent the negotiation process, and the applause he received at the United Nations is very concerning to me.

The United States must adamantly oppose and submit its veto vote in the United Nations Security Council and unequivocally assert that we shall not support this measure until the “Palestinian” Authority evidences itself as a credible peace partner.

If the UN continues its support of Abbas without the above measures taking place, then the United States House of Representatives should withdraw the support of the American taxpayer dollars to both the United Nations and the Palestinian Authority. In times of economic hardship, fiscal responsibility means that we are the guardians and stewards of American taxpayer dollars.

I also want to confront the absurdity of Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad having a platform on our soil upon which to spew his vile rhetoric. There must come a time when Ahmadinejad is no longer granted a visa into the United States. How dare he stand in New York City and blame 9-11 on our America!

Lastly, I want to discuss the Continuing Resolution (CR) the House of Representatives passed this week. It is vital that we as Conservative Republicans learn to and demonstrate our ability to govern, something the liberal progressives seem to be  incapable of doing. We passed a measure which would keep our Federal Government functioning while we complete the remaining six appropriations bills.  There are a total of 12 bills and the United States Senate has only taken up one.

Part of the CR, ensures the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is funded in order to alleviate the suffering of Americans from the recent natural disaster which struck our nation. To be fiscally responsible, House Republicans found spending offsets to ensure we pay attention to our deficit issue. That offset came from a Department of Energy government loan program for “green” vehicles.
The Federal Government does not need to inject itself into the automobile industry, or any private sector industry, as it has done with the mortgage industry and now the healthcare industry.

I call upon Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to stop playing the games of political brinksmanship and pass the House legislation. We do not need to repeatedly portray the United States Congress as a dysfunctional body politic. I ask you, Senator Reid, to stop trying to maneuver and manipulate a failing political agenda at the expense of the American people and  “Pass the House Continuing Resolution, now!”

In closing, never forget that leadership is about taking action, it is different from managing. Our America needs principled and pragmatic leaders who have a deep passion for this country, the American people and their advancement and success.

Steadfast and Loyal,

Allen
