Col. Allen West has firsthand experience fighting with the left, especially on issues like race. The left has subjected Col. West to horrible libels over the years, but he has resolved to keep fighting for his values. Hear how he does it, and how you can too.

Allen West “We can’t afford for our military to not be ready at a moment’s notice to defend us” #Sequester

Military_Equipment_MI-resize-380x300

Defense Department officials and military leaders warned in the months leading up to sequestration that the March 1 budget cuts would severely inhibit their readiness capabilities. Two months later, we’re seeing firsthand just how serious they were.

According to Vice Admiral William Burke of the U.S. Navy:

“Due to reduced training and maintenance, almost all of our non-deployed ships and aviation squadrons are soon going to be less than fully mission capable and not certified for major combat operations. That’s about two-thirds of the fleet.”

The Marine Corps is reporting similar readiness issues, with Lieutenant General William Tryon estimating that half of non-deployed units are at “unacceptable” levels of readiness:

“And our crisis response mission is incompatible with tiered readiness. Marines don’t start to get ready when a crisis occurs. We must be ready, we must be forward deployed and we must be prepared to respond immediately.”

We can’t afford for our military to not be ready at a moment’s notice to defend us—especially in a post-9/11 world in which American civilians were killed in a terrorist attack on U.S. soil just last month. As a former Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, I’ll be the first to tell you the Defense Department is not immune to fraud, waste, and abuse.

There are plenty of areas in which spending could be cut without impacting the readiness and morale of our troops! But across the board budget cuts that chip away at the training and equipment available to our troops sets a dangerous precedent. This is precisely why we’ve launched the Allen West Guardian Fund to elect 12 hard-charging conservatives who will fight to keep our defense and national security a top priority in Washington.

Our team will soon begin introducing the candidates we’re supporting in 2014. We’ll also be announcing various events and programs we’re planning to further the dialogue about defending America and our Constitutional values. I look forward to sharing this important information with you in the near future. In the meantime, God bless America.

The Allen West Guardian Fund was established as a PAC to support conservative military veteran and minority Republicans running for state and federal office, in the same vein as Allen West.

Allen West first took an oath to support and defend our Constitution as a young Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. During his 22 years of service, he was distinguished by numerous commendations and honors for valor, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel.

In 2010, Colonel West once again reaffirmed that oath when he became the first black Republican from Florida to serve
in the United House Representatives since Reconstruction.

Forty years ago, 72% of House lawmakers and 78% of those in the Senate had served in the armed forces. Veteran representation on Capitol Hill has been steadily declining since the early 1970s, largely a result of the World War II generation steadily leaving public office. But those who have served in the military have a better understanding and a deeper comprehension of issues involving national security, armed services and veteran issues –issues no less important now than they were 40 years ago.

Colonel West was one of only four black Republicans to serve in the United States House of Representatives in nearly a century. In the Senate, there have been only two. As the demographics of the U.S. population shift, it becomes ever more critical to increase representation by not only black, but Hispanic and Asian American leaders as well.

The leadership PAC Colonel West established during the 2012 election cycle with the same mission helped 7 military veteran candidates win their seats in the House of Representatives.

We must ensure conservative leaders are elected who will stand as guardians of our constitutional republic, to restore our nation’s fiscal responsibility and strong national defense, limit the growth of government, unleash the free market and preserve the liberty and sovereignty of its citizens.

Allen West Responds to Military Record Smear by Patrick Murphy – KNOW YOUR FACTS WATCH

“Today my opponent, behind in the polls and desperate, launched a false tv ad attempting to smear my military record. I stand by the actions I took to protect the lives of my men in Iraq in 2003. I did not face a court martial. I paid a small fine for breaking rules in an effort to save the lives of my soldiers. I have an honorable discharge certificate as a Lieutenant Colonel and I voluntarily submitted my retirement paperwork upon redeploying from Iraq…something that Patrick Murphy has never done. If put in that situation, it is obvious that Patrick Murphy would not risk his life or endanger his career for those he was entrusted to lead. What kind of man believes he can equate or somehow excuse his drunken brawling and a verbal assault on a police officer by attempting to smear a combat veteran who retired honorably after 22 years of service? Patrick Murphy”

“If it’s about the lives of my men and their safety, I’d go through Hell with a gasoline can . . . There is not a person in this room I would not sacrifice my life for.” -Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Allen B. West

Allen West says DWS is like a gift that keeps on giving but you just want to take it back to the store.

Unbelievable.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz — proud liberal and Democrat National Committee chair — is like a gift that keeps on giving — but you just want to take it back to the store.
Last week, Schultz basically blamed the Tea Party for the horrific shooting of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.  Here is what she said.
“We need to … tone things down, particularly in light of the Tucson tragedy … where my very good friend, Gabby Giffords — … [was shot],.”  “The discourse in America. . . has really changed, I’ll tell you. I hesitate to place blame, but I have noticed it take a very precipitous turn towards edginess and lack of civility with the growth of the Tea Party movement. … You had town hall meetings that they tried to take over, and you saw some their conduct at those tea party meetings … when they come and disagree with you, you’re not just wrong, you’re the enemy.”
So there you have it.  We’re “the enemy” and when we speak our mind, people get shot.
Outrageous.
I want to make three things very clear.  First, my family continues to keep Rep. Giffords in our thoughts and prayers.  Second, I condemn all violence — it has zero place in American politics.  And third, the Tuscon shooting had nothing to do with the Tea Party or conservatives.  It was a depraved act carried out by one very sick individual.
I won’t stand by and listen to this type of attack on Americans who want to speak their mind, and you shouldn’t either.  There are two things you can do right now.
1) Call Debbie Wasserman Schulz’s office right now at 202-225-7931 and tell her you’re sick and tired of the ridiculous statements she makes.
****** UPDATE: AFTER CALLING DWS OFFICE we were advised this “the complaint about the AZ shooting has to be to the DNC 202-863-8000”
Schultz’s attacks on us and our movement show the level she is willing to approach in an attempt to discredit us and essentially squelch free speech.
I for one am not intimidated.  I’ll continue to have town hall meetings, and welcome a spirited and civil debate about the future of this nation and the direction we want to go.  The voters — and our democracy — demand nothing less.
And thank you for your ongoing support.

Steadfast and Loyal,

Congressman Allen B. West (R-FL)
Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army, Retired

Congressman Allen West – “24 Hours”

I hope you are enjoying a well-deserved holiday with family.

I want to take just a moment during this very busy time of the year to remind you about our year-end deadline and also ask for your immediate help.

I am hoping that you can donate $25 or more at our website right now. I need to hear from you in the next four days. Here’s why:

As you may recall, every three months the Federal Election Commission requires federal political campaigns to report how much they have raised and spent. And our next deadline is this coming Saturday — just 100 hours away.

It’s important for every campaign to post a strong report end of the year report. But it’s absolutely critical for us.

By now, you know the story. Our conservative army has been very critical of the Obama Administration and both parties in United States Congress. As a result, some of the most powerful people in Washington, D.C. want to see us gone.

They’re pulling out all the stops to defeat me as a rebuke to our conservative army.

I’ll tell you something — they don’t scare me. I’ve fought on the battlefield in the U.S. Army. I have defended our nation on foreign soil. I’ve fought my entire life for what I believe in – what we believe in. And today, after a year on Capitol Hill, I pledge again in 2012 to continue to fight on your behalf.

But this fight will not be easy and we need to fund this effort fully — and that’s where you come in.

Your financial support of our conservative army will be the difference between us winning and losing next November. It’s that simple!

National Democrats are raising millions of dollars to try and defeat us in the next election.

This report — the last one of the year — is “make or break” for our campaign.

We need to not only match what they have raised, but exceed it.

Only 24 hours remain in this fundraising period. If you have not yet done so, please support our conservative army by making a special year-end contribution of $25 or more to my re-election campaign.

I will continue to fight for our values but our success or failure will depend on your continued commitment to our cause.

Thank you so much for your support.

Steadfast and Loyal,

Congressman Allen B. West (R-FL)
Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army, Retired

P.S. Your donation of $25 or more will help us match and exceed the fundraising the Democrat Machine is doing right now. Please make your contribution within the next 100 hours at my website right now. Thanks and I will update you on our progress in 48 hours.
