Col. Allen West, former GOP U.S. Congressman from Florida, said at a Thursday morning panel focused on the devastating economic impacts of amnesty that economic policies that displace black youths from jobs—like President Barack Obama’s immigration policies—have led to fads like the “knockout game.”
The panel, hosted by the nonpartisan pro-jobs group Americans4Work and featuring West and other leaders on immigration policy, focused intensely on how the economy has not gotten better around the country for many groups of Americans, including the black community. They noted how the immigration policies proposed by the president and some in Congress would not help the situation.
West and fellow panelist Professor Jan Ting of Temple University were discussing what they called the “new normal” in America—how Americans are not succeeding independent of the government in record numbers.
“What we don’t want to see happening in the United States of America is this second and third generation of welfare,” West said. ”That becomes the new normal. When you look and see your mother and your father or your grandmother or your aunt or uncle, whoever is raising you, that they were born in Section Eight housing, their kids were in Section Eight housing. And therefore, you think there is no place else for me to go but Section Eight housing.”

This week we’ve seen reversals from Democrats on the individual mandate of Obamacare, which unfairly taxes Americans. That could be the good news.
There were some interesting “this day in history” anniversaries such as the first parachute jump in 1797, the tragic loss of 250 Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers at the hands of Iran in Beirut in 1983, and the birth of the United Nations in 1945.
We were unfortunately reminded that the Democrat party is still comfortable with the despicable imagery and symbology of the Ku Klux Klan, courtesy of Florida Rep. Alan Grayson. Speaking of Florida, 300,000 Floridians became the latest victims of Obamacare when Florida Blue dropped their health insurance coverage. And we still see an unemployment situation which becomes more dire with each passing month. We can only restore this Republic by educating the citizenry. That is our goal, because the uninformed may turn us all into subjects.

Last year at town hall meetings, when I warned of the dangers of Obamacare and Floridians losing their coverage, liberal progressives called me an “extremist.” Hate to say “I told you so” but Florida Blue has announced they’re dumping 80% of their individual policies. Yep the truth is pretty extreme.
I woke up this morning sure I would see a statement from the first African-American President condemning Florida Democrat Rep. Alan Grayson for his use of a burning cross and Klansmen in a fundraising email.
After all, the liberal progressive left and President Obama have made such an issue about the Washington Redskins mascot and the offensive nature of that symbol, wrongly so of course.
I just knew that Obama, so beloved by the black community would make a serious stand against the use of a symbol that represented voter intimidation and lynchings of blacks. I felt that President Obama, the champion of civility in political discourse, would schedule a press event today, or maybe even call TEA Party leaders, such as he did with Sandra Fluke and Jason Collins, to offer an apology and support. Then I woke up from the dream I was having.
It is beyond disgusting that Democrat Rep. Alan Grayson from Florida is using images of burning crosses in a fund raising email.
I grew up in Atlanta, Ga., and remember the Klan burning crosses atop Stone Mountain. The constitutional conservative grassroots movement known as ‘The TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party’ focuses on fiscal spending and government growth issues as well as individual liberty and free market principles. Mr. Grayson should probably crack open a history book, in between his histrionics, and learn that it was the Democrat Party that created the Ku Klux Klan to intimidate black voters.
And another thing…beyond Grayson and his cross, there’s Democrat Senator Harry Reid referring to Barack Obama as light-skinned and not speaking in “Negro” dialect. And Democrat Vice President Joe Biden referring to Barack Obama as “clean and articulate.” Where oh where is the outrage from NAACP, National Urban League, Congressional Black Caucus, Rev’s Jackson or Sharpton? Oops, I forgot — white liberal progressives have a get out of jail free card. It’s just tragic that these traitors are selling the black community out to the party of slavery, Ku Klux Klan, Jim Crow, literacy tests, poll tax, and modern day economic servitude. And they call me Uncle Tom?
I recently visited the Five Star Veterans Center in Jacksonville, Florida on behalf of the Allen West Foundation where we had a nice gathering of Americans and the theme of “The American Dream.”
As I drove home after the event heading to South Florida, ‘round about Cocoa Beach I gazed over in amazement at a disturbing electronic billboard sign. I thought perhaps my eyes were just tired. However, as we got further down the road near Vero Beach, I saw the sign again: “Find Jesus in the Quran” with some quranic verse number and the website, whyislam.org.
Hours before, I had spoken about the American dream and Jefferson’s immortal words, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.” Those words embody the American Dream: that our individual rights emanate from God, our Creator, not from man or government. It is that deep Judeo-Christian faith that enabled 56 men to embark upon the quest of creating a nation where the individual reigned preeminent.
So how was it that I gazed upon two electronic billboards promoting an ideology that translates into the word, “surrender?”

A fierce advocate of conservative values, strong education, and public service, Allen West is the third of four generations of military servicemen in his family. His parents instilled in him a very basic principle, love of God and Country.

When Allen and I go out to parties, galas, and the like, people speak to him about conservative thinking. That is a given. He is deeply patriotic, deeply involved with the history of the country and very knowledgeable.
But….. after they speak with him, the conversation invariably turns to me. And…. it starts like this….”WHEN DID you BECOME conservative….” A girlfriend of mine who I have known since I was a child told me “its written all over your face…. people can tell..” OK, should I change my lipstick? (smile)
I was the quintessential student, loved school, fell in love with the university life — both in Europe and the US. It was intellectually stimulating and exciting. I truly understand when my daughter gives us 4 hours here and there during the school year. She is me — albeit with the “Conservative Chick” tee-shirt.
The University meant that I could be myself. The lover of documentaries, exhibitions and plays. I remember when Allen and I got married, the officer’s wives club had their meeting to welcome me. That was like fitting a round peg (me) into a square hole (them). You see, one faces a big penalty for non-conformance in such groups. I knew how to sew well because my grandmother owned a business which involved making high quality dresses for the top US stores so she taught me. BUT the officer’s wives were into “crafts” so I tried it. Let me tell you that cross stitch is not only boring, it is tedious. very….. One of the other Ph.D. students came from Utah where she told me that her mother was a whiz at embroidery and cross stitch. Her mother sent an 89 percent completed a piece and I finished the trim in front of my peers in the OWC. I still have the piece. It says “Officers’ Wives — the toughest job in the military”. It had all of the flourishes, my friend’s mother is a genious and I was accepted at least for a short while.
At that time — late 80′s to the 90′s the left pretty much solidified their dominance in University thought and hires. They replaced all of the stuffy professors in suits with conservative ways with “cool professors” who sat on the lawns, smoked weed and had many neurotic ticks. But they were creative and exciting. They also did not have preconceived notions about women, minorities, gays and so forth. Believe me, I was told by one “conservative” professor that “women can not write nor do arithmetic — much less BLACK women.” He was able to grade any paper I wrote, no matter how long, in a matter of 3 – 5 minutes. He gave me a “B” and wrote a note that he was being “generous”. Another, was the chair of one of the large departments, he was known to hire only attractive girls with his department budget, I felt “happy” that I was one of the chosen. Then, I came down with the flu, showed up to work looking pretty run down for a week and he jokingly said —- “If you don’t get your act together and stop dragging in here, I going to replace you.” And so on and so forth ….The “Stinkin’ Thinkin’” crew had to GO.

Why the March to preserve American jobs for American workers?
Former Congressman Allen West has just accepted the role of keynote speaker at next month’s D.C. March for Jobs, which is being sponsored by the Black American Leadership Alliance (BALA) in protest against the amnesty bill now making its way through the U.S. Senate.
If passed, BALA believes the bill will not only be a disaster for American workers overall, but will hit African-American workers especially hard.
If passed, the Gang of Eight’s proposed immigration bill will be costly for all Americans, but will harm black American workers more than any other group. Mass immigration and amnesty puts those poorest Americans from all walks of life out of work and suppresses wages, causing them to compete with aliens willing to work in poorer working conditions for cheaper pay.
When 22 million Americans are either out of work or unemployed, now is no time to further over-saturate the labor force with increased immigration levels and amnesty. If Congress doesn’t stop this irresponsible legislation, the United States will continue to see more and more Americans of all races out of jobs and on the streets.
We believe it is time that members of Congress act to preserve economic opportunity for American workers – and pass immigration legislation that protects and supports the nearly 22 million American citizens who do not have jobs, or cannot find adequate employment to support their families. Economists report that labor participation in the U.S. is at its lowest rate in over 30 years.
Despite sluggish economic conditions, some in Congress have put forth immigration proposals to increase legal immigration levels by 50% and provide amnesty to over 11 million people who have entered the country illegally. We stand against these proposals, as they will result in adding millions more to the U.S. labor force, putting millions of American citizens out of work.
The march will take place on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. Marchers will assemble at Freedom Plaza and head down Pennsylvania Avenue to a rally at the Capitol.

Of course, conservatives have been excited to hear the rumors that West may be challenging amnesty supporter Sen. Marco Rubio for his Senate seat in 2014 (Rumor also has it that West just may confirm those suspicions at the July 15 rally!).
