FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CONGRESSMAN ALLEN WEST STATEMENT ON ELECTION RESULTS

Stuart, FL – Today Congressman Allen West released the following statement ending the race for Florida’s 18th District:

“For two weeks since Election Day, we have been working to ensure every vote is counted accurately and fairly.  We have made progress towards that goal, thanks to the dedication of our supporters and their unrelenting efforts to protect the integrity of the democratic process.  While many questions remain unanswered, today I am announcing that I will take no further action to contest the outcome of this election.

While there are certainly still inaccuracies in the results, and the actions of the St. Lucie County and Palm Beach County Supervisors of Elections rightly raise questions in my mind and for many voters, after much analysis and this past weekend’s recount in St. Lucie County, our legal team does not believe there are enough over-counted, undercounted or fraudulent votes to change the outcome of the election.

While a contest of the election results might have changed the vote totals, we do not have evidence that the outcome would change.  Given the extremely high evidentiary hurdles involved in a successful challenge, I will not ask my generous supporters to help fund a drawn-out, expensive legal effort with little chance of success. Therefore, we will not contest the certification or challenge the seating of Congressman-elect Murphy.

Serving the people in the House of Representatives has been among the highest honors of my life, but this seat does not belong to me, or for that matter, to any individual.  It belongs to the people.

I want to congratulate my opponent, Patrick Murphy, as the new Congressman from the 18th Congressional District. I pray he will serve his constituents with honor and integrity, and put the interests of our nation before his own.

I must thank my wife Angela, and my daughters Aubrey and Austen for their support, patience, understanding and most of all, love. These are three of the toughest women I know. They have sent me off to defend our nation overseas at war, and to Capitol Hill to serve our nation in the House of Representatives. They have all handled the challenges of these last few months, and the last many years, with amazing grace. I know they will be by my side for whatever is our next chapter.

I want to thank my congressional and campaign staff for their service, and most importantly, I want to thank all of our tremendous supporters who provided their time and money to power our campaign. I am humbled by the dedication and perseverance of our supporters, and their commitment to a free and prosperous America.  I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for our campaign, but most importantly, what they have done, and will continue to do for our country.  None of us should let the outcome discourage us. We should only redouble our resolve.

Above all, I want to thank God for his blessings, and for blessing me with the opportunity to serve.

Only God knows what is in store for each of us. I have dedicated my life to serving this nation, and the results of this election will not change my purpose. Just as I did in the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan, just as I did on Capitol Hill, I will continue to fight for our Republic.

Our nation will not overcome our challenges overnight, and the road ahead for each one of us will not be easy. But this nation would never have become that shining beacon of light if our founders had chosen the easy path 236 years ago.  We all must proudly continue their legacy.

For the protection and preservation of our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, I shall remain steadfast and loyal.  God bless you and God bless these United States of America.”

Stuart, FL – Congressman Allen West released the following statement regarding the election results certified today by the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections:

“Since Election Day we have been working for a fair and accurate accounting of the election outcome in which voters can put their full trust.  We will review the results of today’s recount and the other available data to determine how to proceed.  I have been humbled by the support we have received and the hard work of so many to ensure the integrity of this process.

We look forward to the report which will be issued by the Secretary of State’s auditors this coming week which we hope will shed light on some of the outstanding issues.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tim Edson Campaign Mgr for Allen West Released the Following Statement

JUDGE THWARTS MURPHY’S ATTEMPTS

TO SUPPRESS VOTE IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY

Stuart, FL – West for Congress campaign manager Tim Edson released the following statement regarding the 19th Circuit Court’s ruling today against Patrick Murphy’s attempt to halt the retabulation of early votes:

“We are pleased the judge did not concede to Murphy’s desperate demands to halt the retabulation of early votes already underway in St. Lucie County. Clearly, if the canvassing board has already agreed there were discrepancies and under- or over-counted ballots, it would make no sense to halt the retabulation. From the start, Murphy’s motion was procedurally and substantively lacking.

Once again, all we have ever asked for is a fair and accurate count of the votes to preserve the integrity of the voting process for the citizens of District 18. Integrity is something Patrick Murphy and his band of lawyers seem to have in short supply, as evidenced by their continued attempts to prevent votes from being counted.”

Patriots Join Forces to Stand Up For The Man Who Won’t Concede to Corruption – Allen West

UNEDITED REPORT GIVEN TO BREITBART.COM

Allen West Republic, who is NOT an “Official” part of the “Allen West for Congress” campaign, has and is coordinating it’s efforts with the citizens of South Florida and the entire nation in an effort to insure that EVERY VOTE in St. Lucie County is properly counted.

Spokesperson for the group, John Swetland said: “We do not understand how Patrick Murphy, a Certified Public Accountant, would not want to see the same outcome: A fair election, where the man with the most votes wins, NOT the man who was fortunate enough to have the mistakes of the SOE go his way”.

Allen West Republic has successfully utilized the people within it’s Facebook Group and Fan pages to gather and coordinate people from the FL-18 district area and surrounding areas. Local mobilization was led by a dynamic husband/wife team of Gary & Melinda Galiano, along with others who have been steadfast to Congressman West’s efforts for over 2 years. People have come en-mass, either showing up to demonstrate, bring food, or witness the recounts. Mark Bonner, creator of the Breitbart-One Voice Silenced, Millions Awakened” and their 41K members were vital to sharing our message and gathering some of their members who live in the St Lucie area and across south Florida.

Tanya Grimsley, the backbone of the groups social networking efforts, recapped yesterdays events: “The decision was made by the court to stop Allen West from preempting the Board. Judge Vaughn did not feel that with the evidence presented by West that he could intervene and force a recount. So, Murphy’s attorney, SOE’s attorney and the attorney for the Canvassing board made their main point that the Judge would supersede the law if the judge ordered Board to do a recount and they won. The Canvassing Board met at 4 PM yesterday and after a very long wait and delay and letting the people actually speak they then decided on their own 2-1 vote to do the recount. NOW Murphy’s attorneys want an injunction to stop the recount. ASKING that same judge to intervene.”

Statement from the Official West Campaign:

PATRICK MURPHY ATTEMPTS TO SUPPRESS VOTE IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY

Stuart, FL – West for Congress campaign manager Tim Edson released the following statement regarding Patrick Murphy’s lawyers’ attempt to get the 19th Circuit Court Judge to disallow the retabulation of early votes agreed to by the St. Lucie County Canvassing Board:

“In a last-ditch effort to suppress the vote, Murphy’s lawyers submitted sloppy and incomplete papers to the Court this morning to try to strong-arm the judge into preventing today’s retabulation already underway. The Murphy team’s motion is procedural and substantively lacking. With every action attempted, Murphy demonstrates a complete lack of respect and utter disregard for the voters of St. Lucie County.

Murphy’s efforts bring to mind the dark times in our nation’s history when politicians tried to manipulate the law to suppress the votes, and we are appalled by Murphy’s apparent contempt for the voting rights of citizens to have their ballots accurately and fairly tabulated.

Murphy knows there are votes that have not been counted, but he’s taking legal action to ensure the results are certified anyway. Perhaps the Justice Department should investigate Murphy’s attempt to steal himself a seat in Congress at the expense of the voters in St. Lucie County.”

Swetland when asked about the missing ballots had this to say: “Well we do not know WHY they went missing, we can only assume. Last night they found 304 more missing ballots…that is in addition to all the other errors throughout the week, but of that I do not have an accurate number that I’d be comfortable quoting.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Statement from Allen West on Canvassing Board’s Decision

ST. LUCIE COUNTY AGREES TO RETABULATE ALL DAYS OF EARLY VOTING

Stuart, FL – Tonight the St. Lucie County Canvassing Board agreed to retabulate all eight days of early voting in the congressional race for Florida’s 18th District beginning at 9:00 a.m on Saturday, November 17th.

“We are pleased the Canvassing Board has done the right thing for the voters of St Lucie County by agreeing to a retabulation of early votes,” said Allen West. “All we have been fighting for since the very beginning is to ensure the citizens of this county have their votes accurately and fairly counted.”

“Tonight’s development is a victory for the voters of St. Lucie County, said Tim Edson, West for Congress campaign manager, “Despite the best efforts of Patrick Murphy and his team of attorneys to suppress the vote, the citizens of St. Lucie County will rest easy tonight knowing their voices will be heard.”

NEW VOTE COUNT DISCREPANCIES CAST FURTHER DOUBT ON ACCURACY OF ELECTION RESULTS

Stuart, FL – West for Congress today sent a letter to Florida Secretary of State, Ken Detzner, detailing vote count discrepancies uncovered during a review of public records released today from the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections office. Specifically, while the campaign has not yet been provided access to the poll book information for votes cast on Election Day, an examination of the early and absentee ballot information raises significant questions relating to nearly 1,000 votes.

According to Tim Edson, West for Congress campaign manager, “If there is this much discrepancy for early and absentee ballots, just imagine how inaccurate the counts might be for all precincts on Election Day. As we have said from the beginning, we are simply seeking an accurate and fair count of all votes so that we may preserve the integrity of the voting process for the citizens of District 18.”

UPDATE: Tim Edson Campaign Mgr for Allen West – Alarming Facts at St Lucie SOE

With every passing day, the math coming out of St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections Gertrude Walker’s office becomes more and more fuzzy.

On Sunday the St. Lucie Supervisor of Elections conducted a partial recount of early voting.  As a result of that count, the total number of votes dropped by 799.  Then on Monday the Supervisor of Elections explained the drop by saying 3,650 votes were double counted on Election Night and 1,950 were not counted at all.  Basic math tells us that removing 3,600 double counted votes and adding 1,950 does not add up to a drop of 799 votes, but rather a drop of about 1,700.

Of course, the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections could clear up a lot of this fuzzy math if she would simply release the poll sign-in books so Floridians could see if the number of voters who checked into vote corroborates the number of votes cast.  She refuses to do so.

These facts should be alarming to anyone that cares about fair and accurate elections.  Unfortunately many in the corrupt liberal media don’t seem to care and Allen’s opponent just wants everyone to move on regardless of the clearly flawed results.  He clearly thinks other things are more important—like pretending to be a Congressman and getting to work on Nancy Pelosi’s agenda…

We will not allow this election to be decided without ensuring every vote is counted fairly and accurately.  We need to make sure Florida, and the nation, have a principled leader in Congress like Allen West, not another phony politician who will rubber stamp the disastrous Obama-Pelosi agenda.

Thank you for your prayers, your efforts, your contributions and your continued advocacy for fair and accurate elections.

Sincerely,

Tim Edson

Allen West for Congress – Actions of St. Lucie County SOE Result in More Questions than Answers

Stuart, FL – Today West for Congress released the following statement in response to today’s questionable conduct by St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections Gertrude Walker and the St. Lucie County Canvassing Board:

“We are after the truth of what votes were cast by voters in St. Lucie County, and the conduct of the canvassing board today casts doubt on their reported numbers.

The St. Lucie Canvassing Board’s abrupt action today was reached entirely without explanation or justification.  The Campaign was informed on Saturday afternoon, while the Board met in an apparently private and unannounced session, that a decision was reached to recount all ballots cast during early voting.  There was absolutely no explanation of what events or evidence before the Board triggered this voluntary recount. The Supervisor’s website still includes its last-minute public notice of a full recount of early votes:

That is not what happened today.  Again without any warning or notice, the Board announced this morning that it would count only the early votes cast on Nov. 1, 2, and 3.  The explanation given at this point was that the four data cards in use on those three days of early voting did not upload properly on Election Night.  However, the Supervisor and the Board said on Election Night and at Thursday’s canvassing board meeting that the four “compromised” data cards were actually taken from vote counting machines in use during the first three days of early voting.  By the close of today’s meeting, the Board again changed its position to explain that the decision to recount only early vote ballots cast on Nov. 1, 2, and 3 was at the direction of “Tallahassee.”

Adding to this confusion is the Supervisor and Canvassing Board’s continued refusal to produce any means of verifying their count. The records of poll book data for early voting requested of the Supervisor and the Board would allow anyone to match the number of votes and number of voters.  The candidates and the public have no way of knowing that the number of persons who voted in this election is equal to the number of ballots counted.  The critical information contained in early voting poll book records is as necessary to certification of results as it is simple to produce. The Supervisor and the Board continue their attempts to hide the facts and after today’s events, their conduct and inconsistent behavior cast even more doubt on the St. Lucie County’s election returns.”
