Allen West: Out of the Foxhole

by Allen B. West for Washington Times Communities

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., November 2, 2013 — There are some encouraging signs that black Americans are beginning to understand that liberal Democratic leaders and the policies they support are doing far more harm than good to their communities. And conservative black issues are becoming a part of many black — and white — political platforms.

There is a conservative black candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia — E.W. Jackson. Jackson is a former Marine, a Harvard educated attorney, and an ordained minister whose conservative values should be warmly embraced by those who will most benefit from them.

Just last week, NBA Star, future Hall of Famer, and Newark native Shaquille O’Neal officially endorsed New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. In July, the Black Ministers Association of New Jersey also blessed Christie with their endorsement.

So what are the key issues for black voters? Education for one.

Christie’s support of choice in education for all children, including black children, has made him a poll leader in the New Jersey governor’s race. That is especially interesting since President Barack Obama cancelled the D.C. school voucher program in February 2009, immediately after his inauguration.

Allen West “Our resources are not their toys and our lives are not for their manipulation”

Yesterday was a great day here in Louisiana, spending time with folks in Lafayette and Baton Rouge. Today I’ll get a chance to visit the National World War II Memorial in New Orleans before heading home. However, one thing sticks with me from my time here in the beautiful Bayou State: attending church service at First Baptist of Lafayette. Pastor Steve preached yesterday from the Book of Acts, Chapters 2, 4, and 5 about the five principles of Christian stewardship: unity, generosity, necessity, personal integrity, and accountability. As I reflect upon the decisions in our Nation’s capitol today I wish Pastor Steve had given that sermon on the House and Senate floor, and to a certain someone in the Oval office. Folks in DC are sent to be stewards and representatives and I wonder if we were to ask what their guiding principles are, what the response would be. Heck, I’d just like to know what sermon message they heard on Sunday morning. Our resources are not their toys and our lives are not for their manipulation. Do the right thing today Harry Reid. America is watching your stewardship.

Allen West “The hypocrisy is glaring”

News Conference Held To Unveil Petition Asking House To Investigate Benghazi Embassy Attack

by Allen West via Facebook

Last night I spoke at an event in Alexandria for EW Jackson, GOP nominee for Lieutenant Governor in Virginia. Jackson’s story is a powerful one, initially raised in poverty in a foster home, juvenile delinquency, reunited with his dad, former Marine, summa cum laude from U Mass, and Harvard law school graduate. However, the story yesterday was an attack against his daughter in POLITICO. The liberal media revels in attacking minority conservatives — prominent Hispanic conservative Senator Ted Cruz experiences the same treatment. However, the party of slavery, secession, segregation, Jim Crow, and the KKK especially enjoys attacking black conservatives, well aided by a highly complicit liberal progressive media and black liberals who remain silent. Consider how, on the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s March on Washington, not a single black conservative was invited to speak. No Justice Clarence Thomas or Senator Tim Scott. However, the man who cancelled the DC school voucher program for deserving black kids, Barack Obama, was celebrated. The hypocrisy is glaring. The continual practice of not just disagreeing but seeking to destroy the lives of those minority conservatives who do not embrace liberal dogma is vile. However, no one can destroy our steadfast resolve. Black conservatives are especially hated by liberals because we so love America.

Friday, September 13, 2013 – Political Potpourri by Jacquie Kubin

WASHINGTON, September 13, 2013 – While he no longer holds elected office, Colonel Allen West’s impact on the national political scene continues to grow.

The Allen West Guardian Fund is announcing its first endorsements for the 2014 election cycle, including Congressman Tom Cotton, Arkansas Senate; Mia Love, Utah – 4, who was also endorsed in 2012; Dan Bongino, MD – 6; and E.W. Jackson, the GOP Nominee for Lt. Governor, Virginia.

The fund plans to endorse a total of 14 persons, leaving ten more endorsements to be announced.

“Here at home, those who can benefit most from conservative policies – namely minorities – are under-represented in leadership,” Col. West says from his Florida office. “As the demographics of this nation change, we must ensure conservative minority voices are not sidelined or silenced.”

As a nation we are experiencing a significant divide as we watch the economic, political and foreign policies of the Obama administration reaching conclusions.

“Elections have consequences – and we’re certainly seeing the effects of some serial bad decisions in this country,” Col. West says. “The 2014 elections represent an opportunity for Americans to self-correct. The question I hope voters will ask themselves is, do we really want to continue on this path? With the workforce participation rate at an all-time low, persistent double-digit unemployment in the black community and increasing threats abroad, I can’t believe there are many folks who think we’d be better off with more of the same.”

The ability to control the decisions made in Washington lies with the voters, only it requires informed and engaged voters.

“We’ve got to elect principled leaders who will protect and preserve our liberties and our nation,” Col. West says.

The Allen West Guardian Fund’s mission is to support minority and veteran conservative candidates; candidates reflecting the mores of Colonel West.

Obviously America agrees with Colonel West as the group has raised nearly $1.9 million so far in 2013. The Federal limit for direct contributions is $5,000.00 for primary plus $5,000.00 making the maximum endorsement for any candidate $10,000.00.

The leadership PAC Colonel West established during the 2012 election cycle endorsed 13 candidates, 11 of which have prior military service.

“When you see what’s happening in this world, and the dangerous and frankly, deadly results of poor strategic military decisions from our elected leaders, it’s quite obvious we need more people with military experience in Washington,” Col. West says. “Forty years ago over 70% of the House and Senate had served in uniform. That figure is under 20% now, and only 16 members of the House have served since Sept. 11, 2001.  Is it any wonder our enemies and allies alike are doubting our resolve?”

2013 Endorsement recipients will be honored at a Capitol Hill Club breakfast event on Thursday, October 10.  Colonel Allen West and Lt. General William G. “Jerry” Boykin will be attending, and speaking at this event.
