Emails surface of egregious gerrymandering of Florida’s Congressional Districts| Wasserman-Shultz

via The Shark Tank and Washington Free Beacon

The proverbial political cat is out of the bag for the Democratic Party, as emails obtained by our friends over at the Washington Free Beacon expose egregious gerrymandering of Florida’s congressional districts between Congresswoman Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee, Democratic consultants, and the Florida Democratic Party during the 2012 redistricting process.

The Shark Tank broke the story that Congressman Allen West was going to be “screwed” during redistricting, because of a deal the Republican controlled Florida Legislature had struck with Democrats. While Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin pounced on the redistricting “fix” that was taking place against Allen West, the GOP establishment moved quickly to cover its own hind, as several high-ranking legislators directly pointed the finger at two legislators as being the responsible parties of the controversy, former Senate President Mike Haridopolos and current Senate President Don Gaetz.(Rush Limbaugh discussed Shark Tank story of Allen West)

The legislators in question told the Shark Tank that Haridopolos personally asked to let the state Senate redistrict West’s congressional district. Again, desperate politicians looking to save their careers will say anything to stay out of hot water, perhaps even lie about Haridopolos’ direct involvement.

Rep. Allen West’s Secret: He Speaks His Mind

Tuesday October 16, 2012 2:07 AM – by Matzav.Com

West Palm Beach, Fla. – If Democrats had to pick a vulnerable tea party Republican they’d love to take out in November, Rep. Allen West would no doubt rank very high.

The bombastic freshman has spent the past two years taunting Democrats – he called President Barack Obama “probably the dumbest person walking around in America right now,” dubbed 80 of his Democratic House colleagues “communists” and told Debbie Wasserman Schultz she is “not a lady” – to name just a few of his put-downs.

Yet three weeks out from Election Day, West, an Afghanistan War vet, has the look of a survivor. The freshman’s smashmouth brand of politics might seem like a poor fit for the moderate, Treasure Coast district. But West’s outsize TV presence gave him practically universal name ID out of the gate – and an enormous cash advantage – in his nasty reelection battle against 29-year-old construction firm executive Patrick Murphy.

Democrats concede that West could well win reelection; privately, some of them say they expect he will.

If there’s a secret sauce for West’s success, Republicans and Democrats alike say, it’s this: Unlike so many of the calculated, poll-tested pols in the Capitol, West actually speaks his mind. The fact that a lot of what he says is intentionally meant to provoke or beyond the pale hasn’t caught up to West, though Democrats intend to change that before Nov. 6.

“In the day and age of candidates of 30-second sound bites, Allen West provides people with something they don’t see very often, which is a politician who says what he believes and doesn’t really care,” said Chris LaCivita, the hard-hitting Republican operative who helped orchestrate the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth campaign and is now working for West. “The fact that he tells the unvarnished truth as he sees it – people respect him for that.”

That no-holds-barred style was on full display Wednesday as West delivered a 30-minute stem-winder of a speech at a senior facility here on the importance of defending Israel. In an address full of absolutes, West declared that the Obama administration, which has had a sometimes chilly relationship with Israel, faced a clear choice: either stand by Israel or risk the country being annihilated.

“My mother would tell me, ‘Allen, a man must stand for something. Otherwise, he’s going to fall down,’” the congressman told listeners.

Sitting in the audience, Elaine Fandino, a 69-year-old retired nurse, said she admired the congressman’s approach.

“He’s strong. He doesn’t lie to the public,” Fandino said. “He doesn’t not say something because you won’t like it.”

Even Democrats grudgingly acknowledge that West’s style appeals to some.

Congressman Allen West released this statement regarding the Democrat Party platform:

Patrick Murphy’s Party Demonstrates True Colors with Israel Platform Turnabout

“Caught in their attempt to quietly throw the Jewish State of Israel under the bus in their party platform, Patrick Murphy’s Democrats dragged their party faithful kicking, screaming and booing to a vote to re-instate pro-Jerusalem language and references to God. It was a cynical, political move to hastily pull a veil over their true beliefs.

While the 2012 platform now reinstates the language about Jerusalem, it is still far weaker than the 2008 platform which recognized Israel’s right to exist, stated the United States and its Quartet partners should continue to isolate Hamas, and made mention of the creation of a separate Palestinian state.

Since 2008, the policies of President Obama have only served to further isolate Israel, a tiny glimmer of freedom and liberty in the Middle East and our strongest ally in the region. His disdainful attitude to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and by extension, the Jewish people of both Israel and the United States, is reprehensible.

How this President, this Democrat party, its Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and her lapdog, Patrick Murphy, have the nerve to stand in front of Jewish Americans and say they support the State of Israel is unconscionable.

The only positive thing about this disgusting turn of events is that the American people now know without a doubt where the Democrats stand on Israel and the Jewish people–and it is clearly not with them.”

Florida Congressman Allen West to Keynote Denver GOP Dinner – June 4, 2012

By  for The Colorado Observer

DENVER—Denver may not be known as a Republican hot spot in the state of Colorado, but Denver County Republican Chairman Danny Stroud is determined to put the party back on the map, politically speaking.

For the second year in a row, Stroud—along with the county party leadership—has turned some heads with the selection of the group’s keynote speaker for the annual fundraising dinner.

Last year, businessman and future Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain wowed those in attendance at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science months before he caught fire with a portion of the grassroots conservatives within his party.

This year, the Denver County GOP will play host to Rep. Allen West of Florida, an outspoken conservative, Tea Party favorite and subject of recent rumors of reaching some political observers and Republican heavy-hitters’ short list as a potential VP candidate.

West made waves after his election to Congress for slamming fellow Florida Representative and Democratic National Committee Chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz as “vile, unprofessional, and despicable.”  West also gained national notoriety after characterizing liberal Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison, a Muslim, as “someone that really does represent the antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established.”

The Lincoln Day dinner will take place Monday, June 4.

“He’s made a name for himself as a spokesman for liberty in this country, and he has a great message,” Stroud said.

Stroud has been a proponent of removing the stigma of Denver as the metro area’s ‘forgotten county’ when it comes to Republican electoral objectives and get-out-the-vote turnout efforts. He simply points to the numbers of registered Republicans in the county that must turn out on Election Day in order for statewide Republican candidates to win.

Top Five for Social Media Usage for the US House of Representatives – Rep Allen West

By Rachel Greenway on OhMyGov

The current lull in the Republican race is giving others a chance to sport their social media prowess, including the members on Capitol Hill. Analytics fromOhMyGov reveals the Top 10 Social Media Users in Congress from the past week.

The top social media scorers had to demonstrate a proficiency and mastery of both Facebook and Twitter by growing their following at the highest rate over the past week.  They were also scored on the number of Retweets their followers shared from their Twitter feeds.  Finally the amount of Twitter mentions each Congressional leader earned rounded out the scoring.  Each social media component was added together and averaged out to reveal the individual’s social media score for the week.

The gap between Congressional Republicans and Democrats in social media is clear in the Top 10 for the House of Representatives, with 7 of the 10 members clocking in as Republican.  In the Senate, the split is more even: 5 Republicans, 4 Democrats and an Independent.

Regardless of party lines, these 20 Congressional leaders led the pack for Feb 7-14, becoming this week’s most successful social media users on Capitol Hill by earning high scores in four key touch points for social media analysis. To see the numbers for each member, simply click on their names below.

1.   Ron Paul (R-TX)
2.   Eric Cantor (R-VA)

Allen West says DWS is like a gift that keeps on giving but you just want to take it back to the store.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz — proud liberal and Democrat National Committee chair — is like a gift that keeps on giving — but you just want to take it back to the store.
Last week, Schultz basically blamed the Tea Party for the horrific shooting of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.  Here is what she said.
“We need to … tone things down, particularly in light of the Tucson tragedy … where my very good friend, Gabby Giffords — … [was shot],.”  “The discourse in America. . . has really changed, I’ll tell you. I hesitate to place blame, but I have noticed it take a very precipitous turn towards edginess and lack of civility with the growth of the Tea Party movement. … You had town hall meetings that they tried to take over, and you saw some their conduct at those tea party meetings … when they come and disagree with you, you’re not just wrong, you’re the enemy.”
So there you have it.  We’re “the enemy” and when we speak our mind, people get shot.
I want to make three things very clear.  First, my family continues to keep Rep. Giffords in our thoughts and prayers.  Second, I condemn all violence — it has zero place in American politics.  And third, the Tuscon shooting had nothing to do with the Tea Party or conservatives.  It was a depraved act carried out by one very sick individual.
I won’t stand by and listen to this type of attack on Americans who want to speak their mind, and you shouldn’t either.  There are two things you can do right now.
1) Call Debbie Wasserman Schulz’s office right now at 202-225-7931 and tell her you’re sick and tired of the ridiculous statements she makes.
****** UPDATE: AFTER CALLING DWS OFFICE we were advised this “the complaint about the AZ shooting has to be to the DNC 202-863-8000”
Schultz’s attacks on us and our movement show the level she is willing to approach in an attempt to discredit us and essentially squelch free speech.
I for one am not intimidated.  I’ll continue to have town hall meetings, and welcome a spirited and civil debate about the future of this nation and the direction we want to go.  The voters — and our democracy — demand nothing less.
And thank you for your ongoing support.

Steadfast and Loyal,

Congressman Allen B. West (R-FL)
Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army, Retired

One congressman ( Allen West )gets starring role at Chamber of Commerce event in Washington

Via article from the Sun Sentinel  By Anthony Man

On Monday, the schedule includes a “fireside chat” chat with U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Plantation. On Wednesday, breakfast is followed by a “welcome” from West. On Thursday the trip ends with closing remarks from – you guessed it – West.

From the published schedule of the Washington, D.C., “fly in,” during which 75 members of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce will spend part of four days learning and lobbying in the capital West seems like a constant presence.

Not mentioned the four Democrats who represent part of Broward, including U.S. Reps. Alcee Hastings, D-Miramar, and Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Weston, whose districts – like West’s – include lots of the city of Fort Lauderdale. (Also not mentioned, for that matter, is U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Miami, whose district takes in part of southwest Broward.)

J.W. Arnold, a member of the Chamber’s Washington fly-in steering committee, said West’s had “been very helpful in facilitating our arrangements.”

He said he expected participation – at least in an evening reception – from U.S. Reps. Frederica Wilson, D-Miami, and Ted Deutch, D-Boca Raton, both of whom represent parts of Broward. Wasserman Schultz’ office is trying to arrange time, he said.

VIDEO – Congressman Allen West, As Sweet as Chocolate

by Javier Manjarres

It’s not often that you’re going to catch your congressman on the beach cleaning up after beachgoers on a weekend, but for Congressman Allen West, it’s just another day at his other “office”. West, an avid beach goer and certified master diver, took to the beach on Saturday with about three dozen supporters and cleaned trash off the sand. West also took a stab at cleaning up an ocean reef that was entangled with fishing line, hooks and other waste.

There was an obvious police presence partly due to a rumor that DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz had enlisted a squadron of liberal attack seagulls to lay siege on West and ‘rain down’ liberal Democrat talking points on Congressman West. Fortunately for West and the other grateful beach goers, the squadron of  birdies was Missing in Action.

After Congressman West made a quick wardrobe change-a-r00, West made his way over to Jan’s Homemade Candies in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, where he met up with a local troop of  Boy Scout to make chocolate that will be sent overseas to U.S. Military personnel.  West said that he was there to support a local business but mostly to lend support to the American troops stationed abroad. When asked about his steady and at pouring chocolate, West replied, “I don’t waste chocolate, I don’t like to waste taxpayer dollars either.”

The nut doesn’t fall far from the tree: Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’s parents via @directorblue

DNC Chief and radical leftist Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has an interesting genealogical tree that (surprise!) hasn’t been covered at all in legacy media. The Broward/Palm Beach News‘s exceptional investigative reporter Bob Norman offers the background on the cases involving Wasserman-Schultz’s mother and step-dad:   …it’s been five years since I busted Wasserman-Rubin and sparked the investigation that is dogging her today. The story was called Cash Cow, and it had to do with gaming of the new town of Southwest Ranches by Wasserman-Rubin; her husband, Rick Rubin; and a slew of other well-heeled manipulators.

…Rick Rubin was paid obscene amounts of money — something like a million dollars — by the town to write county and state “green space” grants that Wasserman-Rubin voted on. Based on one grant approval by Wasserman-Rubin and her colleagues, Rick Rubin received a $15,000 bonus.

A citizen named Ray McKinney got pissed off when he read it and sent it to the Florida Ethics Commission. Incredibly, the commission, one of the most useless governmental agencies ever created, actually hit Wasserman-Rubin with administrative charges and fined her $15,000… It was a small victory for anticorruption forces in Broward County — a largely toothless dog bit Wasserman-Rubin and gave her a little bruise…

…The [scandal] effectively ended Wasserman-Rubin’s career. Not long after we reported the existence of the criminal investigation, she announced in early April that she was abandoning her reelection campaign…
