Allen West Guardian Fund | We need to cut off President Obama and his liberal Congressional allies.

cta

Dear Friends,

I need to hear from you today.

If you’re following the stand off between House Republicans, Senate Democrats, and the White House, I know you’ll agree it’s disgraceful. We should be ashamed that Congress and the White House have allowed our country to return to the edge of the fiscal cliff after we should have cut spending and balanced the budget in 2011 when we reached the debt ceiling then!

It’s time to usher in a new generation of conservative leadership to replace the ineffective and uninspiring “leaders” we have today. The Guardian Fund is working hard to elect 14 hard-charging conservatives to Congress in 2014 who will be staunch guardians of the Constitution and defenders of our conservative values, especially fiscal sanity. But we need your help. Please take a moment right now to read the email below and then click here to pledge your monthly support to the Guardian Fund. Whether your can give $5 or $25 a month, your support is critical to helping elect the next generation of conservative leaders.

America can do better. Please stand with the Guardian Fund today by investing $5, $10, or even $25 a month in our mission.

Thanks,

Allen

Did you hear what President Obama said the other day about raising the debt ceiling?

“…raising the debt ceiling, which has been done over a hundred times, does not increase our debt….”

You and I both know this simply isn’t true. If we say yes to more debt, we are saying yes to more spending. Congress cannot be trusted with our tax dollars. We would be crazy to give them more to waste!

American can do better.

That’s why the Guardian Fund is working overtime to elect 14 hard-charging conservatives to Congress in 2014 who will be staunch guardians of the Constitution and defenders of our conservative values. But we urgently need your help to reach our $5,000,000 target goal to ensure each of our hand-picked candidates wins next November.

President Obama just doesn’t get it.

America has got to stop spending! Our debt is so large it’s now a national security threat. We can’t keep borrowing from enemies, like China, and expect to never pay a price.

When you or I max out our credit cards, the credit card company cuts us off. Well, we need to cut off President Obama and his liberal Congressional allies.

Thank you in advance for your support.

@AllenWest Military Action in Syria “The world is laughing while we look weak and reactive. “

AW PJTV

Barack Obama doesn’t get it.

He doesn’t know how or when to use military force and his on-the-job training as “Commander-in-Chief” is embarrassing all of us.

Obama is stumbling towards military action in Syria. He drew a “red line” on chemical weapons use and Syria crossed it. We did nothing and it badly wounded our credibility. Not surprisingly, they used chemical weapons again…but now we are forced to act.

As Obama slowly and publicly puts plans in place for a military strike we’re televising every move so the Syrians can hide their weapons, decentralize their command and control, and make themselves harder to successfully strike.

The world is laughing while we look weak and reactive.

America can do better.

I’m not going to settle for second-rate leadership and you shouldn’t either.

A military campaign needs an objective — we can’t just launch a feel good bombing campaign to try and save face after Obama retreated when he was tested by an insane dictator. If we wanted to use military force, we should have done it immediately and decisively.

Please help me fix Washington. America’s foreign policy is a joke.

We simply can’t keep going on like this. Our adversaries — China, Iran, North Korea, Russia — are watching us and measuring our weakness while our allies are confused and bewildered.

Take a stand, and together, let’s make America strong again.

Steadfast and Loyal,

Lt. Col. Allen B. West, USA (ret)
U.S. Congressman (2011-2013)

PS: America can do better. Obama’s foreign policy is a complete joke and we look silly and weak in the eyes of our enemies. Also consider supporting The Allen West Guardian Fund this will help elect leaders with integrity, a strong work ethic, and conservative principles in 2014 and make America strong once again.

Politicians Who Don’t Have A Clue  They ignore reality and shun smart solutions

Before we dive into this installment of the Next Generation weekly update, please make sure you go to our website and print your updated monthly NextGen data card. This will give you the latest stats on key economic indicators so you can compare the Obama administration’s record with the past.

Now let’s tackle the theme for this week: “I don’t have a clue.”

President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are running around the country, on your taxpayer dollars, talking about gun control. However, a CNSNews.com report by Gregory Gwyn-Williams reveals that there have been 32 background checks for gun purchases every minute during Obama’s presidency.

Between Feb. 1, 2009 and March 31 of this year (the latest data from the FBI) there have been 70,291,049 such checks. That’s 1,520 days, the equivalent of 36,480 hours or 2,188, 800 minutes. So as the president would say, it’s math. Divide 70,291,049 background checks by 2,188, 800 minutes, and voila, you get 32 every minute.

Listening to the POTUS, you would think no background checks have been done during his entire presidency. Doggone, I knew that after retiring I should have opened a gun store with a firing range. At least we have found one business that is booming in the Obama economy.

See, if the president had a clue, he would realize that law-abiding citizens obey the law, and he is just pushing for more laws for them to obey. Perhaps Obama wants to hit 50 background checks per minute. That could be an important political statistic for White House press secretary Jay Carney to report.

However, consider that this week at Lone Star College in Houston, a deranged individual randomly stabbed 14 college students. If all things are equal, then Obama and the first lady should be calling for knife control, or at least box-cutter control or maybe even barbershop straight-razor control.

Actually, we probably should ban cars because we did recently have a severe multiple-car pile-up on an interstate in Virginia.
My former House colleague, Democrat Carolyn Maloney of New York, has come up with her own grand idea — gun insurance. I recently discussed it on Fox News. She doesn’t have a clue, either.

Unbalanced budget priorities

The big news this week is that we finally — and I do mean finally — got Obama’s fiscal 2014 budget. Of course it was two months late. It will result in $8.2 trillion in new debt. Yep, by 2023 the U.S. debt will be $25.4 trillion.

Obama also proposed $1.1 trillion in new taxes on top of the $1 trillion in taxes from his healthcare law and the $600 billion in new taxes via the deal enacted earlier this year to prevent America from going over a perceived “fiscal cliff.”

Obama’s budget also calls for $964 billion in new spending above projected growth. And nope, he has no plan to balance the budget. But fear not good citizens, the president assures us his plan is a “balanced” approach — meaning Obama does not have a clue.
If we implemented pro-growth economic policies and got Americans back to work, then payroll taxes would increase, fostering more solvency for Social Security. We also could up the retirement age from 65 to 68, lift the cap on payroll tax contributions and means test the program to create a defined benefit, not just a blind contribution.

This would get Social Security back to its original and intended purpose, but political leaders need to have a clue in order to do that.

A wake-up call for North Korea and China

On the foreign policy front, here is my recommendation to get Kim Jong Un to pipe down. Target every hydroelectric power plant in the northern part of North Korea that supplies China with power and take them out.

Convey a simple message to China: Get your mad dog under control or else. If anyone, including our president and secretary of State, believes China is really chastising the North Koreans, well, I have some really nice farmland to sell you just west of where I live in south Florida.

Do I believe North Korea really wants to launch an intercontinental ballistic missile toward the United States? No.

I do believe that in order to save face, young Kim-bo-san will have to do something. I believe that something will resemble attacks from two years ago – sinking the South Korean naval vessel or firing artillery into South Korean territory. I believe an attack more asymmetrical or small-scale and conventional than a nuclear strike could occur. We must prepare for that.

I am sure some people will think me crazy, but I recall when President Reagan found out about Libya’s involvement in the 1986 disco bombing in Germany that killed several American soldiers. He took action.

There are times when true leaders know they must convey to an enemy that they are not to be played with — like former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, the “Iron Lady” who died at age 87 this week, launching the power of Britannia against Argentina in the Falklands.

Reagan and Thatcher, well, they had a clue and knew that foreign policy and national security were based upon respect, not likability. History remembers the resolve and leadership of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill during World War II, not his predecessor, Neville Chamberlain. The latter did not have a clue.

Before bidding farewell for this week, I have a special offer to encourage you to become a Next Generation member – an autographed picture of yours truly. It’s our small token of thanks. Even better, you’ll get to see all of our great programming. Please become a member now, and invite your family and friends to do the same!

Steadfast and Loyal,

Rep. Allen West Statement Condemning State Department for Denying Keystone Pipeline Project

(WASHINGTON)– Congressman Allen West (R-FL) released this statement today upon learning of the State Department’s decision not to issue a permit to begin construction on the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada, before the February 21st deadline:

“It is absolutely irresponsible that the President would block a project such as the Keystone XL pipeline – a project that industry experts say would create at least 20,000 American jobs and be essential in helping jumpstart the American economy.  This decision today is further evidence that President Obama is not serious about setting the conditions for job creation nor working towards our energy independence as it relates to our national security.  Once again, President Obama has shown that his reelection and pandering to his left wing liberal environmental base is more important than securing the future for our nation.  The ramifications of this utterly disturbing politically motivated decision will be far and wide.  Congratulations China.”

Congressman Allen West vows to help yachting industry – At a marine industry summit

By Lucy Chabot Reed

October 30, 2011

Those days of U.S. customs officials sometimes stopping yacht crew for having the “wrong” visa (even though they have the correct one) may be coming to an end.

At a marine industry summit at the boat show yesterday, U.S. Congressman Allen West, who represents South Florida in Washington D.C., called on groups and leaders to create what they call in the military an After Action Report (AAR) when the show is over that points out the hurdles the yachting industry is dealing with. Then to send it him so he can endorse it and send it to the pertinent federal agencies so the issues can be addressed.

“For whatever reason, people respond when they get a letter from me,” West said. “Create a document with your big ticket issues on it and the lessons learned so I can start getting them addressed. I don’t want to be sitting here next year talking about these issues again.”

Top of the list was the inconsistent application of visa requirements for yacht crew. Depending on the customs agent, crew with B1/B2 visas are admitted for usually about six months with no problem; sometimes the agent insists on the C1/D visa and denies entry.

Another is the amount of export duties — or lack of import duties — that make it harder for U.S. boat builders to compete globally.

Billy Smith of Trinity Yachts described a recent launch, a 161-foot motoryacht, that was sent to China. The buyer had to pay 48 percent in taxes to take delivery.

REID BLOCKS VOTE on Obama Jobs Bill VIDEO – PLEASE SHARE EVERYWHERE

For all of President Obama’s insistence that Congress must “pass this bill now,” and Democrats’ assurances that they have the votes necessary to pass it, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was in no mood to vote on the president’s jobs-creation bill Tuesday afternoon.

Reid blocked a vote on Obama’s jobs bill after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell made a motion to add it as an amendment to a bill being heard on the floor. That bill was an effort to put pressure on China to allow its currency to appreciate.

Reflections From The Burg by Scott Cooper

Written by Scott Cooper
September 21, 2011

So the front page of today’s WSJ says “Home Forecast calls for PAIN – Prices to stumble to 2015.”  Further into the article, “consumer spending stifled and more pushed into foreclosure.”

Hmmm.  Wasn’t it three years ago President Bush “Abandoned the free market in order to ‘save’ the free market?”  Here we are three years later, and we are considering more spending and more bailout – and we continue to push recovery into the future.

This weekend I had the pleasure of speaking with a woman who escaped Romania during the height of communism in that country.  The stories she told were gut wrenching – and can be read first hand in her book Echo’s of Communisim – Lessons from an American by Choice written by Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh.  Today – Romania is freer than we are.  How sad is that?
Here are a couple thoughts:
  1. Let’s never again try loaning money to people who can’t afford it. (pushed by the government since implantation of CRA and expansion of Freddie and Fannie).
  2. Let’s encourage our citizens to spend only what they have money for – and stop using the equity of the roofs over our heads to purchase cars, boats and consumer merchandise that does not ever appreciate in value.  (Encouraged by President Bush after 9/11/01).
  3. Let’s stop borrowing money from China and the Fed to give to states – to fund projects that should be paid for by the states to begin with
