@RepubCCwAngela Addressing the Leftist Lead Smear Against @AllenWest

AW and AW 2013

A personal note from Dr. Angela Graham-West via @RepubCCwAngela on Facebook

It was 6 months ago that I decided to start this page. One of the reasons I started this Page was that I love to write and I am a voracious reader. As a former professor, researcher, and teacher I absolutely LOVE the hunt for interesting as well as provocative material. I read and I ENJOY your comments. It has been and I hope it will continue to be a delightful andragogical learning experience. I learn from you and hopefully you learn something from me. A wonderful give and take. And believe me sometimes the “hunt” can be a daunting experience in today’s “journalistically empty” environment. Instead of worthwhile stories, you find a plethora of idiocy about people’s personal lives (gossip) and all around foolishness.

Therefore, when I share links to stories, you will find that I use a small circle of trusted venues. Anything odd, I will check to make sure that it is factual and correct.

Well, for the millionth time I have come across something that is not factual. In FACT, this has turned out to be a hurtful smear. You see, in the era of the news as propaganda, even the television news becomes a vehicle for political agendas. And I want to clear the record because it is about my husband and myself —- two subjects that I know well.

>First and foremost, my husband has decided to take on a lesser role at PJ Media. He has other aspirations for his life. And guess what? He is allowed to do so. He is a free man. And he is a “grown-up”.

>Second, I left the Board of Trustees with Florida Atlantic University after 2 years because I have other obligations —- most notably I have a business that keeps me monumentally busy, I am a mother and I have other activities that I wanted to get back to. I am allowed to do that. I am a free woman. And I am a “grown-up”.

>Neither one of those movements required that he (my husband) be “fired” or my being “bounced” or “fired”. We just moved on. That is part of life, you do one thing and then it leads to something else. We are allowed to do this and we have this right. We value our freedom as “gown-ups”.

But I suppose the most outlandish innuendo made was that my husband is anti-semitic. This foolishness, similar to the screech of “racism” or “homophobia” has become the mantra for ruining lives and families particularly in South Florida. My daughter happens to be a young Black woman who is a member of a traditionally Jewish sorority, their goals and the caliber of young women appealed to her. She is a “grown-up” and she is free. AND , if you ask me, that represents PROGRESS. We, as Black people, no longer have to cluster in ALL Black environments, we don’t have to think alike, we don’t have to vote alike. Progress occurs when emancipation is not only physical, but mentally and intellectually, as well.

In addition, my husband and I are supporting a Jewish IDF soldier through university studies —— the full 4 years —- fully paid, “full ride”. A Black family with humble roots making this leap — now THATS progress….

We reject any charge of antisemitism, it is not in our DNA and never will be. We also reject any charges of racism, homophobia, islamophobia, agoraphobia, misogyny (hatred of women), misandry (hatred of men), sexism, atheism , anarchism and any other “phobia” or “ism” that anyone might find or make up.

We are a multi-racial, multi-faith, multicultural family with friends of the same type of mind. We just require that you bring your “thinking cap” to our get-togethers because the discussions are usually lively, intelligent and interesting. In other words, come packing a brain, not gossip and foolishness.

In closing for this evening……… It has been a great 6 months. I am so impressed with the civility that our little Page has garnered. It is almost like a cozy place to express ideas without the name calling, attacks and vitriol. And without the posturing of false intellectualism. How wonderful that the Ph.D.’s and the high school graduates , each with something to say , can express their minds without fear or hesitation……..What a breath of “fresh conservative air”. And I sincerely thank all of you for teaching me. I have enjoyed it an hope to reach out to all of you tomorrow.

How MLK’s Dream Got Derailed

Liberal politics is preventing the black community from fulfilling the vision of the March on Washington

By

Today marks the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous, “I Have a Dream” speech. Dr. King delivered that monumental speech to ensure that the words of Thomas Jefferson, “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal,” lived up to their meaning, just as Lincoln sought to do. It is therefore quite appropriate that the monuments to these three astute Americans are within eyeshot of each other.

However, where have we come in these 50 years and what is legacy of that speech today?

Dr. King postulated that, “the Negro is still not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity.”

There can be no doubt that we have highly successful blacks in all walks of life, but when we examine the state of America’s inner cities we must all be appalled; shall I say Detroit?

We have fought to break the chains of physical bondage, but today the chains of economic bondage are even worse. This is not about social justice but about ensuring that the economic opportunities of America can resurrect small business entrepreneurship in the black community. Our economic, tax, and regulatory policies must promote free market growth, investment, innovation and ingenuity to enable self-reliance.

We need to promote the growth of our small community banks in order to provide the capital for those in our inner cities with an idea in their heads and determination in their hearts. The Reagan administration proposed such an initiative – urban economic empowerment zones.

Dr. King stated that, “America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked insufficient funds.” Today, the government is issuing electronic benefits transfer cards and even recruiting for enrollment. The government is issuing free cell phones. This is not the dream King wanted, the nightmare of dependence.

North of Dr. King’s birthplace in Atlanta, a young black teenager sits accused of shooting a 13-month-old baby in the face. We know of the killings in Duncan, Okla.,  and Spokane, Wash., the murders in Chicago and the school bus beating in Gulfport, Fla. Black males comprise 6 to 7 percent of the American population but are responsible for nearly 55 percent of violent crimes … that is not part of the dream.

Allen West “I am beyond Angry! This can no longer be tolerated”

by Allen West via Facbook

Reprehensible and disgusting. Two black male teenagers are being sought in the beating death of 88-year-old Delbert Benton. Mr. Benton was an Army WW II veteran who survived combat during the bloody Battle of Okinawa. This must end! I have yet to hear a peep out of Head of NAACP Ben Jealous at all. As an Army combat veteran and son of a WW II veteran I am beyond angry. We have a problem in the black community and it is high time we taught this generation of young black men a lesson in respect, dignity, and honor. This can no longer be tolerated. Mr. Benton was an American treasure. Farewell my Brother. http://bit.ly/16RZA4l

Allen West “I have had it with the politics of race baiters who use iambic pentameter sing-song speech to anesthetized blacks from the reality of their demise.”

Twelve hours from now Ms. Mackenzie Weinger of Politico will interview me on the subject of Al Sharpton’s role in the media in connection with the Trayvon Martin case. My response will be based upon this quote from Booker T. Washington, circa 1911, “There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs-partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.” Now, I do not know the agenda of Ms. Weinger. However, as I watch the destruction of the black community in America, I have had it with the politics of race baiters who use iambic pentameter sing-song speech to anesthetized blacks from the reality of their demise.

Allen West ” The usual suspect race baiters and progressive media using Trayvon tragedy for political gain”

by Allen West via Facebook

Yes, Trayvon Martin shooting was a tragedy which the usual suspect race baiters and progressive media are using for political gain. Where is the outrage for the recent killings in Chicago of a 6-month-old black baby, 16-year-old black honor student, or 17-year-old black teenager who refused to join a gang? The focus is on the symptoms which promote political gain, not the disease which now afflicts the black community. And I am tired of white liberals invoking the heinous memory of lynchings.

Crossing the Line: The content may be fake but the hate is very real – Rep Allen West

One website’s feeble attempt at satire reeks of racism.

By Andre Showell for BET NEWS

Webster’s dictionary defines satire as a literary work holding up human vices and follies through ridicule, scorn or wit. But a so-called satirical website called “Free Wood Post” recently posted something that was more hurtful than comical.

It’s a fictitious article about Republican Congressman Allen West called, “I’m Black by Birth, Not by Choice.” The title alone is enough to make me want to click away from the page. But I resisted and proceeded to read it in its entirety. It contains an excerpt from a fake TV interview in which West discussed how he felt being a Black congressman during Black History Month.

The excerpt reads:

In light of this month being Black History Month, I feel no way involved with this negro celebration of half accomplishments and borderline Communist agendas. View the list of these “fearless” leaders of black America. Black inhabitants of America knew their place at the table, and knew they could not eat off the same plate of the more than welcoming white men and women of the time. These men, I use that term lightly, like Malcolm X pushed themselves into the homes of innocent white Americans. This action riled up the Negro, and scared the living hell out of people. I am no way apart of this community of transported Africans, I myself am an American. I’m a good ol’ boy from the great state of Florida, and a citizen of this great nation. I know God recognizes me as my true self, a proud, strong white man given dark pigmentation. God had to give the blacks at least one intelligent person, so he chose to give me dark skin. I curse my birth as a black man every day. I’m black by birth, not by choice. It will all be sorted out when my name is called, and I step in front of the great white Jesus himself.

You would think that the authors would poke fun at West’s politics as a Black Republican since political leanings are fare game when it comes to satire.  But it appears that, in this excerpt at least, West’s only vice, or folly worthy of ridicule, scorn or wit, as the definition explains, is the fact that he is Black.

Allen West is the latest target of liberal left lies – by Barbara Howard

by Barbara Howard guest columnist Florida Courier

“A Divide and Conquer Lunatic!” This was only one of the names in the most incredulous emails I have received about Black Republicans and the worst blasting Congressman Allen West. It accuses him of saying, “I’m Black by birth, not by choice” in an interview with CNN anchor John King.

The quote continues: “In light of this month being Black History Month, I feel no way involved with this Negro celebration of half-accomplishments and borderline Communist agendas. View the list of these ‘fearless’ leaders of Black America.

I curse my birth as a Black man every day. I’m Black by birth, not by choice. It will all be sorted out when my name is called, and I step in front of the great White Jesus himself.”

All a fake

The outrage at Allen was palpable. One person claims to have researched this statement and found it to be true.

But the very website that it was found on clearly tells the world that it is NOT true! The link was to Freewoodpost.com, which states unequivocally in “Satire Disclaimer” that the post on Allen West is pure fiction and “fake news.”

“Free Wood Post is a news and political satire web publication, which may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious ways. All news articles contained within FreeWoodPost.com are fiction, and presumably fake news.

Any resemblance to the truth is purely coincidental, except for all references to politicians and/or celebrities, in which case they are based on real people, but still based almost entirely in fiction.”

Almost nobody took the time to investigate this absurd claim? “I’m White by birth, not by choice?” Who says that kind of thing? And if it was an interview on CNN, where is the video?
