I’m back in DC for three days and therefore did my usual early morning run. As I ran past the Capitol and along the mall, I had an interesting thought. Since everyone has Oprah on the mind right now, remember when she referred to then-Senator Barack Obama as “brilliant”?

While running, I thought about the Obamacare disaster and if President Obama is so brilliant, how do you explain this abject failure? I began to ask myself, is this truly incompetence or possibly intentional — or both?

Obamacare is facing countless issues and the website is not really the most critical of the issues. The whole plan is based upon the flawed premise of forcing more young and healthy into exchanges to actually fund and subsidize, lower income and less healthy Americans.

More and more it appears that Obamacare has an intentional purpose of destabilizing and destroying the insurance market. There seems to be evidence of full knowledge of the adverse effects of millions of Americans being dropped from their individual healthcare plans, even as the President was stating Americans could keep their plans.

There are many (me included) who think his repeated lies about keeping your healthcare plan and unconstitutional edicts are grounds for impeachment. As long as Democrats control the Senate, that’s probably not going to happen – but perhaps there’s light at the end of the tunnel after 2014. In the meantime, one can always hope he’ll do the honorable thing and resign.

Americans are single-mindedly focused on one particular Obama lie: “If you like your healthcare plan you can keep it period.” This purposeful, blatant deceit of the American people, on top of past lies (such as a crude video being the impetus for the spontaneous demonstration resulting in the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya) has eroded any trust, confidence, and credibility for Barack Obama.

However, there is another lie which has far greater implications for American credibility: “Iran will not get nuclear weapons.”

According to the follow-on reports from the negotiations of the UN P5+1 and Iran in Geneva, President Obama, through his characterless mouthpiece, Secretary of State John Kerry, was willing to end all sanctions against the rogue Islamic regime for minuscule concessions.

Here is truly one of the exceptional good guys on Capitol Hill, my former colleague and friend Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC). I would love to see President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Susan Rice being questioned by Rep. Gowdy, with no 5 minute time limit.

The interesting thing is that the pathetic cowards of the Obama media cannot answer these questions either. The media who does not seek the truth is complicit in the deaths of these four Americans. And if Speaker of the House John Boehner continues to refuse to bring forth a vote on a select committee, well, I and many Americans are waiting for an explanation.

One day Trey Gowdy will be our US Attorney General.

Regarding the abandonment and murder of of Ambassador Chris Stevens, State Department IT Specialist Sean Smith and former US Navy SEALS Ty Woods and Glenn Doherty, Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton infamously ranted before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee “what difference does it make?”

Well, beyond her and President Obama’s obvious negligence, there is a new threat,: the proliferation of shoulder- fired Man Portable Air Defense Systems (MANPADS), one of the world’s most deadly weapons.

According to a Washington Times article these shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles are making their way into Syria and falling into the hands of al Qaeda as well as US-backed Free Syrian Army.

I hope everyone enjoyed a Happy Halloween and I hope you didn’t forget to “fall back” one hour as we exited daylight savings time this weekend.

It seems appropriate that in this week when our kids celebrated the time-honored tradition of “trick or treat,” we grown-up Americans were introduced to the same from the Obama administration. But it was mostly tricks – especially about the reality of the (not really) Affordable Care Act.

Last week there was a very telling CBS 60 Minutes segment by Lara Logan on Benghazi. Anyone believing this is a ‘phony scandal’ is part of the incredible cover-up being promoted.

It has been over a year and we still have no idea about the truth behind what occurred at the US Libyan consulate. Matter of fact, we do not even know of the whereabouts of President Obama that evening. His last directive, as he has stated, was to ensure those at the embassy got all the resources they needed, but for some reason that never happened.

This past weekend I was invited to speak on the campus of Valdosta State University in Georgia. The city of Valdosta is nicknamed, “Winnersville” because it has produced so many champions. They win, because they expect to win. That’s normal for Valdosta. But it’s no longer normal for America.

The new normal in America, a country now led by progressive socialism, isn’t about making winners or champions. It’s about creating dependents, and we’re all losing.

The new normal in America is a President who openly embraces the philosophy of wealth redistribution, as laid out by Karl Marx: “from each according to their ability, to each according to their need.”

So in pursuit of wealth redistribution policies, the new normal in America means our constitutional republicanism is being replaced by a Marxist/socialist ideal. This ideal is rooted in nationalizing production, broadening the dependency society, a sense of social utopianism

(fair share, fairness, economic and social equality), and most threatening, a secular humanism which replaces God, from whom our individual rights come, to government — trading the “Big G” for the “little g.”

We see this manifested in government spending at almost 25% of our gross domestic product (GDP). And mind you, this is a GDP limping along at around 2 percent growth, a dangerously weak economic recovery. To fuel the growth of this socialist welfare state, our national debt has grown from $10.6 trillion to now over $17 trillion in just five years. We’ve clearly lost control of spending.

Last year leading up to the election, President Obama said Al Qaeda was on the run and had been decimated. Obama and his talking head, now National Security Advisor Susan Rice, went on five different Sunday talk shows and told us the attack in Benghazi was a spontaneous reaction to a video. Then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton offered apologies to the Muslim world and even spent US taxpayer dollars to create a television commercial airing in the Islamic world apologizing for the crude video.

But according to reports from Fox News’ Catherine Herridge, it seems several of the Benghazi attackers had ties to the supposedly decimated senior Al Qaeda leadership and — surprise, surprise — the attack was not at all spontaneous.
