I pray everyone enjoyed a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving with family and friends. We enjoyed a special Thanksgivukkah at the home of our friends and at sundown, lit the Menorah candles, and gave blessings in Hebrew and English before we found delight in a delicious meal.
Yes, we discussed the state of our nation over dinner and came to realize that slowly America is being redefined and fundamentally altered. Every operating system, our economy, our work ethic, our core values, our national security and our foreign policy is being remade into something that is hardly recognizable.
One of the dinner attendees even asked rhetorically, “Are we this stupid?”
Tempus fugit is Latin for “time flies” and before you know it, Thanksgiving 2014 will be here. We shall gather again to give thanks, but will we still be sinking under the fundamental transformation of America or shall we have begun to right this ship?

Life is still too good in our nation for people to care about what really matters. So we focus on the stupid stuff. http://t.co/Mzg1g8S3OE
According to the New York Times, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel is pondering “realignment” of the military budget, which means a shift in strategic posture. That’s the sort of news which should cause grave concern about our military readiness – unless, of course, you’re one of our enemies.
According to Secretary Hagel, “The Army was the principal institution fighting those two wars (Iraq and Afghanistan), as the armies normally are in land wars,” Mr. Hagel said. “So as those requirements have come down, there’s going to be an adjustment.” That view is driving a new look at the Pentagon’s traditional, even distribution of funds. Hagel further states, “I don’t think you can just make easy, simple assertions based on simple formulas — a third, a third, a third,” he said. “That might turn out to be just about right, but it may not.”
Today is the 238th birthday of the greatest and most lethal fighting force known to man, the United States Marine Corps.
Tomorrow on Veteran’s Day, a grateful nation thanks those who have been willing to make the last full measure of devotion in service to our Republic. These are the men and women who have been our guardians and stood watch on freedom’s rampart.
The oath of office taken by our men and women in uniform is to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. The oath of an American guardian has no statute of limitations. We serve, sacrifice, and defend until we draw our last breath.
Don’t forget to thank our veterans, our guardians, on Monday.
There’s been yet ANOTHER “carve out” – in other words, an amendment — to the so-called Affordable Care Act. Last week Kaiser Health News reported that “the administration will propose exempting ‘certain self-insured, self-administered plans’ from the law’s temporary reinsurance fee in 2015 and 2016” – which means unions.
Fox News host Megyn Kelly jumped all over the new development on Wednesday’s “The Kelly Report.” Her guest, J. Justin Wilson, managing director of the Center for Union Facts pointed out,

This evening I had one of those “out of body experience” runs. I got a nice 6 miles around PGA National where I live and just felt 32 years old. Now, of course in the morning I will feel 52 again, but then that is what they make Motrin for. God knows with Obamacare I had best take all the necessary preventive measures I can.
Anyway, while running I thought about the 2-hour meeting in the White House between 15 Democrat Senators and President Obama. These Democrats, especially those up for reelection in 2014, are freaking out. I had a humorous mental image of the meeting. Imagine Obama as Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Head of SPECTRE of James Bond lore, and there as well is the infamous SPECTRE defector Rosa Klebb played by Valerie Jarrett.

Kerry is a prominent representative of the United States but it seems he’s reluctant to stand up for the fundamental American values of equality, as it pertains to women around the world.
As reported by Elliott Adams on the Council on Foreign Relations blog:
On the move for Saudi women to be allowed to drive, Kerry was careful not to appear to take sides. Noting that while the United States embraces gender equality, “it is up to Saudi Arabia to make its own decisions about its own social structure and choices and the timing of whatever events.”

It was George Santayana who said, “those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” It was Japan who had sent a delegation to Washington DC for talks as Admiral Yamamoto’s naval armada steamed towards Pearl Harbor. So history repeats itself as the US has begun negotiations with Iran. Yet according to nuclear experts at the Institute for Science and International Security, Iran could be just one month away from having enough weapons-grade uranium for a nuclear device.
After the recent debacle on Capitol Hill, instead of real forward progress, we have the same old tired “Beltway two-step” of “let’s have a committee meeting.” To paraphrase Alfonso Bedoya’s words as Mexican bandit leader “Gold Hat” in the 1948 film, “The Treasure of Sierra Madre:” “Meetings? We don’t need no stinkin’ meetings.”
Truly, we don’t need no stinkin’ meetings. The American taxpayer is tired of stinkin’ meetings that end up nowhere. We all know that next year on January 15 and February 7 (which happens to be my birthday), regardless of what President Obama says, the kabuki dance will be replayed. What we need are competent statesmen who will develop sound policies leading to economic growth.
