US rolls over on Iran nuke program – by Allen West on November 24, 2013

Nothing good happens late at night, and America just had a modern-day Neville Chamberlain moment. At 3 am in Geneva, Iran and 6 major powers agreed to “temporary relief” of sanctions in return for Iran stopping or scaling back parts of its nuclear program. President Obama has just empowered the number one state sponsor of terrorism, Iran, to pursue its nuclear goals and objectives.

This is not diplomacy, this is abject surrender and appeasement. Iran loses nothing, not a single facility, not any capability to enrich uranium, but we have conceded the one best non-military option: economic sanctions.

President Bill Clinton promised the same in regards to North Korea, and did that have any effect? Not to mention that North Korea has taken an 85-year-old Korean War veteran into detention, and of course we have done nothing.

Iran has held American Christian minister, Saeed Abedini, in prison for nearly a year, and President Obama said nothing about his fate, nor demanded his release. Israel and Saudi Arabia have lost all trust and confidence in America as a credible ally.

Realignment of military budget must have enemies cheering

Written by Allen West on November 19, 2013

According to the New York Times, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel is pondering “realignment” of the military budget, which means a shift in strategic posture. That’s the sort of news which should cause grave concern about our military readiness – unless, of course, you’re one of our enemies.

According to Secretary Hagel, “The Army was the principal institution fighting those two wars (Iraq and Afghanistan), as the armies normally are in land wars,” Mr. Hagel said. “So as those requirements have come down, there’s going to be an adjustment.” That view is driving a new look at the Pentagon’s traditional, even distribution of funds. Hagel further states, “I don’t think you can just make easy, simple assertions based on simple formulas — a third, a third, a third,” he said. “That might turn out to be just about right, but it may not.”

#BB4SP: Allen West on President Obama’s Credibility ~ “He Should Resign” – Fox & Friends ~ Don’t Miss This Video.

There are many (me included) who think his repeated lies about keeping your healthcare plan and unconstitutional edicts are grounds for impeachment. As long as Democrats control the Senate, that’s probably not going to happen – but perhaps there’s light at the end of the tunnel after 2014. In the meantime, one can always hope he’ll do the honorable thing and resign.

The Guilt of a Veteran by Paul D. Clark, Retired US Navy CPO

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I had the honor of serving in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1981, retiring as a Chief Electronics Warfare Technician. I have always been proud of being allowed to serve my country and also achieving the signal honor of being initiated into the fraternity of Chief Petty Officer (CPO) of the United States Navy. Through the years, however, there has always been a struggle within me when someone thanks me for my service.

When thanked, the first thought I always have is one of surprised gratitude that there are citizens who still recognize the value of military service. That event warms my heart. Then comes the ever occurring guilt of trying to find the proper response to the compliment. “You’re welcome” is not a proper response from my perspective. It was my honor to have served. I should be the one thanking America for the opportunity to serve. No thanks needed or wanted. My response of “It was my honor” leaves me feeling guilty of a prideful boasting that I served.

This guilt of pride is all about what I was allowed to do and what I was allowed to accomplish. Thanks to the Navy I have been places and experienced things that most people would pay big money for the price of admission. See me back then and you saw a top of his game CPO. That pride lives on, but grows dimmer with time and telling. I am also embarrassed that I am no longer that person. To tell people how glorious that time was seems to be nothing but empty boasting, however well intentioned.

The guilt of being mistaken for a hero comes to worry me every time a veterans event occurs. I am no hero by any stretch of the story, and I did nothing remotely heroic for all twenty years served. I saw heroes in action and have seen or heard stories of heroes. All that I can lay claim to is being true to my oath of enlistment and standing on the proverbial wall. Do not mistake me for any of those great ones that paid the price required of true heroes.

The Navy may have brought Barbara and I together, however there is always the guilt of the time stolen from my family. I am that thief. I stole from my children and from my wife. I gave that time to the Navy. Barbara, on the other hand, had the toughest job in the Navy – Navy Wife. She was and is jealous of the Navy. Rightly so, but with a wisdom that I lacked in this matter, she allowed me to pursue my dreams in the Navy. For that alone I thank her and owe her for the rest of our days. My children, on the other hand, consider being called Navy Brats as the highest among honors. Go figure.

I am guilty of loving the Navy and the ships too much. So much so was this love that separation from the Navy left me feeling guilt ridden and in anguish over abandoning the Brotherhood. Realizing that I could no longer contribute was the cause of a great and dark depression. That is all behind me now and I have moved forward. Now I cherish those memories of days/weeks/months at sea, sailors as close as brothers, and challenging events on the horizon

Finally, I am completely guilty of telling sea stories. The stories that are told always contain elements of truth, humor, and amazement. They are meant to entertain as well. They are my hard earned right and privilege to tell. I intend them to educate you and amaze you and to also satiate that longing within me to remain forever young and at sea. If by chance it inspires another to serve then we are all twice blessed.

Of all these things I am guilty of because that is who I am. A veteran shaped by the decisions made and the course laid in. A volunteering of service that rewarded the giver more than the gift. All that I ever did was my duty. To be allowed the memory of that is all the reward or thanks I’ll ever need, Thank you.

Allen West “Let’s be very clear: Islamic totalitarianism is our enemy”

Islam

Recently, US Treasury Secretary Jack Lew and Secretary of State John Kerry held closed-door top-secret meetings to persuade the US Senate foreign relations and banking committees to end sanctions on Iran. The next day, Iraqi President Nouri al-Maliki visited the White House to ask for assistance against terrorist insurgents. Trying to curry favor with either Iraq or Iran is a losing proposition.

Having served in Iraq and Afghanistan, I can tell you it’s well recognized that Iranian influence is heavy in providing weapons, especially explosive force penetrators (EFPs) and training to groups fighting against our deployed men and women. We also know that Iran is led by radical theocrats with one goal in mind: destruction of the smaller Satan (Israel) and the greater Satan (America). We must understand their concept of returning the Mahdi, the hidden Imam, and what that means for the global Islamic revolution and global conquest.

Written by Allen West

To my warrior brothers and sisters, Happy Veterans Day. God bless you for your willingness to stand guard upon freedom’s ramparts to protect our beloved Republic.

Today we are being recognized but always remember — every day in America is Veterans Day. In our veins we carry the legacy of the Minutemen of Lexington and Concord. Our hearts beat just as those who stood at the Battle of New Orleans. We march to the sound of the guns just as those brave men of the Civil War who bled to preserve this Union.

We have left our homes and the warm embrace of our loved ones just as the Doughboys and Devil Dogs of the trenches, the Marne, the Meuse-Argonne.

Rep.Trey Gowdy rips liberal media over Benghazi

by Allen West on November 10, 2013 for allenbwest.com

Here is truly one of the exceptional good guys on Capitol Hill, my former colleague and friend Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC). I would love to see President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Susan Rice being questioned by Rep. Gowdy, with no 5 minute time limit.

The interesting thing is that the pathetic cowards of the Obama media cannot answer these questions either. The media who does not seek the truth is complicit in the deaths of these four Americans. And if Speaker of the House John Boehner continues to refuse to bring forth a vote on a select committee, well, I and many Americans are waiting for an explanation.

One day Trey Gowdy will be our US Attorney General.

@Kilmeade puts Allen West in White House: What next on Iraq?

by Allen West Published on Nov 1, 2013

AW Kilmeade

It’s not my idea – today on Fox and Friends, Brian Kilmeade put me in the Oval Office to talk about how I would respond to Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki’s request for help with al Qaeda in Iraq. Unfortunately, we missed a big opportunity when we did not leave a residual force in the region. But here’s what I would do now to try to clean up the mess Obama left:
