My older brother was a Vietnam Marine wounded in a shelling at Khe Sanh. I find it perplexing and disturbing that our current Commander-in-Chief would refer to Ho Chi Minh as being “inspired” by our American founders. The individuals who inspired Ho were Karl Marx and Josef Stalin. I shudder to think President Obama regards them as our founders. Regardless, an apology is due to our men and women who served in the Vietnam War. I would have taken a walk with the new Vietnamese president over to the Vietnam War Memorial and made him see every name on that wall.

  3. It seems Obama is all about twisting the story of our history to fit his agenda.

  5. Allen, you need to read your history closer. I am no admirer of either Obie, nor Ho, but, Ho was an admirer of the Declaration of Independence. Ho Chi Minh first approached the Progressive Wilson Administration for help in overthrowing the French in 1917 or so. Because the US was allied with the French. and because Ho was just a “dirty Tonk” (forerunner of the nickname “Gook”) he was turned away. To realize his dream of a free and independent Viet Nam, Ho Chi Minh then approached Stalin, and the rest is history. You are entitled to your own opinions, but not to your own facts. This is just one of the many failures of the Wilson Administration. Facts, as they say, are stubborn things.

While Ho was corresponding with Truman in 1947 he was also slaughtering Vietnamese citizens that did not want to be “re-educated” and when America still continued to support the French recolonization of Vietnam after WWII and our support for the french in the Indochina war, and then two Vietnam’s. Ho was a ruthless butcher. But he also was a nationalist and did not find a home for his revolution here but found open arms in the early twenties in Paris and Russia and learned well.

  11. I wanted to write to the White House Facebook about Barry and his “Kingdom.” Of course, he did write about America and Royalty. I think he is not a King – more like the Court Jester. He preys upon the ignorant and feeds from the hand of racism. But, on the plus side, he has no many “phony” scandals, it is keeping him busy. I would not have chose the word “phony” – really, really bad word choice. Does he really think that anybody will believe that all of the “phony” scandals are phony? That is a real stretch. The choice of that word will only anger more. I have a recommendation for you – based on personal experiences – do not be afraid of going just a bit down the road of Christianity. When I was a Census Worker and a Health Human and Resources Enumerator, I interviewed many people in their own homes. Some, certainly not all, maybe most, of both black families and Hispanic families are very spiritual in nature. They are closely affiliated to their churches and places of worship. That is the one thing we all (or most) do have in common – Christian principles – whether it is white, black, purple of pink. Obama is not acting like a Christian – it is glaring. Which do they prefer – a black man with no Christian principles or anybody else with them? I have heard a lot of minorities complain about his ideas on homosexuality, abortion, etc.
